Talmon, Israel - Search Team Members Who Found Teens' Bodies Pay Emotional Shiva Call To Sha'ar Family

Talmon, Israel - Members of the civilian search team who first discovered the dead bodies of the three murdered Israeli teens made an emotional Shiva call to the home of 16 year-old Gilad Sha’ar’s family home, telling his parents and mourners, “Thank God we found them.”
NRG.co.il (http://bit.ly/1ktaG1S) reports that the searchers arrived at the gate to the family home accompanied by the IDF Judea and Samaria Division commander, the commander of the Etzion, and several rabbis.
Uri Schaechter, a civilian volunteer who aided in field scans alongside IDF scouts and soldiers, told Gilad Sha’ar’s father Ofir Sha’ar and assembled mourners that, “We did not know if they were dead or alive. We just went in hopeful. With all the pain, thank God we found them. It could have taken years. We gave our effort night and day, and the help from the people was amazing. The volunteers who brought us food and drink, it was all part of a national effort.”
Ofir Sha’ar thanked the searchers, saying, “Every time we went to say thank you we had the feeling that the army was with us. We saw all your red eyes from crying and fatigue, and that gave us such a feeling of gratitude and appreciation. We knew you were making every effort to find them alive. From the top down to the very last soldier, you assumed they were alive. The cooperation between the soldiers and civilians, that reality is a reflection of the the unity that happened in Israel and worldwide.”
Bat Galim, Gilad’s mother, said, “We timed the arrival of rabbis alongside senior military personnel. While the search was ongoing we had a tent in the yard of the Torah, 24 hours a day to teach here the Torah that we knew needed the combination of Siifa and Safra. Did Moses’ hands make war? Tell us we messengers, but we did not choose it. I wish I was that age to us. Am not from what they tell us.”
