A flash flood in the Tzin river bed in the Negev is an awesome sight. Many of the rivers in Israel are dry in the summer but after a good rain….Watch out! The ground of the river bed has hardened and smoothed over time and the water is not absorbed into the ground but rather builds creates a powerful tide which sweeps throught the riverbed at high velocities. If you’ve never actually seen it you can’t quite imagine the force and the beauty of this kind of pheonomenon. But do it from high above the riverbed… You don’t want to be swept away!
