The Diaspora Yeshiva Band Reunion 2014 set at HASC 27

After a hiatus of 18 years, "The World's Greatest Jewish Rock Band" reunited for a blazing set at the HASC Concert 27, the most prestigious annual Jewish musical event in NYC, at Avery Fisher Hall - Lincoln Center, on January 12, 2014. 

The band: Avraham Rosenblum - lead vocal and guitar, Ruby Harris - violin/6 string banjo/harmonica, Menachem Herman - vocals and guitar, Simcha Abramson - vocals and tenor sax, Gedalia Goldstein - drums, Sam Ramras - bass.

Tom Petty, Roger McGuinn, and Avraham Rosenblum

In 1986, Tom Petty, Ben Tench (of The Heartbreakers), and Roger McGuinn (The Byrds), on tour with Bob Dylan, met up with Israeli-American musician Avraham Rosenblum, leader of the band "Diaspora," in Jerusalem. The segment was part of "Rock Israel," from MTV's Musical Passport series, which followed Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers through some sightseeing in Egypt and 2 shows in Israel.
