United with Israel Installs Bomb Shelters Near Ashkelon

If you are in Israel, please join us for this very special event. Two above-ground shelters will be delivered and “dropped down” by a crane in the town of Nitzan. The children of Nitzan along with other children who attend the event, will decorate the shelters with hand-painted murals. A professional mural artist will be on hand to supervise the painting. All of the art supplies will be provided, as well as snacks and drinks!

Nitzan is a community of refugees from the once thriving Jewish communities of Gush Katif (in the Gaza Strip). Nearly 10,000 Jewish residents were forced to abandon their homes during one of the most painful and tragic episodes in Israel’s history, the 2005 Disengagement from Gaza. Instead of leading to peace, the Disengagement led to a sharp increase in rocket attacks into southern Israeli towns.

Many of the Gush Katif evacuees are still living in temporary dwellings. And some, like the families in Nitzan who live in close proximity to Gaza, still live with constant fear of sirens blaring and missiles landing in their communities. While they yearn for the day when they can live in peace with security, the realistic assessment is that attacks will intensify.

In Nitzan, there are two adjacent kindergartens that need shelters immediately. When asked if one shelter could be installed first, the reply was a resounding NO! The children and teachers expressed the incredible emotion that they “would prefer to suffer an attack and die together“, rather than choose which kindergarten would get the first shelter. “They must be installed together, at the very same moment”, we were told.

Back in April 2012, with the help of our strong global community of Israel supporters, United with Israel installed 2 shelters for infirmaries in the towns of Brachia and Hodaya, on the outskirts of Ashkelon. In less than 3 weeks from when the campaign was initiated, new bomb shelters were purchased, delivered and installed.

Purchasing Lush Luxury Soaps and Lotions Help Hamas

It has come to our attention that a luxury handmade cosemetics company called Lush gives a percentage of its profits to an anti-Israel campaign called One World. In essence each purchase of a Lush product supports the terrorist and anarchist groups that are promoting anti-Israel activity in Israel and around the world.
The hypocrisy of this situation is quite staggering considering that Lush prides itself on supporting “ethical campaigns”, including gay and womens right issues, yet it has stores in Saudi Arabia, a human rights abuser and it does not have a store in Israel, a champion of human rights.
We can not stand for this hyocrisy and we must not allow additional monies to be raised by this company to be given to the anti-Israel activities of One World.
We thought of the following actions that United with Israel supporters can take around the world to suport Israel:
1. Do not purchase Lush projects
2. Forward this article to all your friends and families to warn them from purchasing Lush products
3. Purchase soaps and lotions from one of Lush’s competitors, like Me! Bath instead
4. Post the following status on your facebook page “If you purchase soaps and lotions from Lush then you support the Hamas” so that people learn where their hard earned money might go.

UNITED WITH ISRAEL: A Miracle in Jerusalem

The following story conveys the harsh reality that Israel deals with in trying to achieve peace. While Arabs can travel freely throughout Israel and feel no threat of harm, Jews can not enter many Arab areas, in Israel, lest they be put in mortal danger, such as the man in the following story.
But with all of the evil and hate that exists in the Arab public towards the Jews, thankfully there are Arabs with compassion and love. It gives us hope for the day when there will be true peace in Israel.
The other day a man made a wrong turn in Jerusalem and entered an Arab area. As he turned onto the Arab street, a young boy called out that a Jew had approached and a throng of people assembled and starting throwing rocks at the Jew’s car. The man thought his life was over. Thank God, he was saved by the Mukhtar’s family, who took him out of his car, into their house and escaped with him to an side street where a police car whisked him away to safety.
This man owes his life to the Mukhtar, and his family, who placed their own lives in danger by saving the Jewish Israeli.
It is sad that this occurrence takes place in the year 2011 in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, yet this is a reality that Israelis lives with each and every day.
We pray for peace and educate our own for peace, but that same thing is still not reciprocated by the Arabs.
In the meantime, we thank G-d for those righteous Arabs, who stand up for love and justice, even though it endangers their own lives.
