Queens Rabbi Leads U.S. House of Reps. Morning Prayer The Senior Rabbi of Forest Hills served as guest chaplain for the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday, leading morning prayers.

The Senior Rabbi of the Havurat Yisrael Synogogue in Forest Hills, Queens served as guest chaplain for the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday, leading the morning's prayers.
Rabbi David Algaze, who accepted the invitation of Congressman Bob Turner (NY-09) to lead the prayers, delivered a message of strength, unity and prosperity to the assembly.
“Bless this assembly to steer this great nation to the prominence you have bestowed upon her.  The land where even a humble bicycle messenger can soar to serve in this hall; where every man has dignity and the capacity to prosper. Uphold its preeminence among the nations for its message of freedom is beneficial to all men.” Rabbi Algaze said in his prayer.
“I was honored to invite Rabbi Algaze to Washington to represent the lay leaders of our community and provide the Morning Prayer in the House chamber. Rabbi Algaze is a trusted and respected religious and educational leader in Queens and throughout the United States,” Turner said.
Following the recitation of the morning Prayer, Congressman Turner thanked the Rabbi on behalf of the House and praised his continued work on behalf of the community, including his service as the former President of the Association of Sephardic Rabbis of America and as the Founder and President of the World Committee for The Land of Israel.
