Hamas Family Values: Mother Raises Children, Grandchildren to be Terrorists

“I brought them up to be martyrs. To become martyrs for the name of Allah. There wasn’t a definite time in which they told me that they wanted to become martyrs. I instilled this in them and they followed it… and the ones who just started – they are going to continue.”
- Umm Nidal (Mariam Farhat) in interview with National Geographic, 2009
Mariam Farhat, a former member of parliament for Hamas in Gaza, raised each of her six sons to commit terror attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians. She hoped that each of them would die in the process – that each of them would become a ‘martyr’. Now, her young grandchildren are propagating the same message on Hamas TV.
In March 2002, Farhat’s 17-year-old son Muhammad entered an Israeli community, opened fire on school children and threw hand grenades at their school. He killed five students and wounded 23 others. When Farhat heard that her son was dead, she shouted in joy and handed out boxes of halva and chocolates to well-wishers. In a video released after the attack, Farhat stands next to Mohammad as he is about to depart on his suicide mission. “How do I feel, as I promise my son paradise?” she asks rhetorically. “By Allah, today is the best day of my life.”
Another son, Rawad, was killed when an IDF strike hit his car, in which he was carrying a Kassam rocket. Farhat’s eldest son, Nidal, manufactured rockets for Hamas – rockets that were later used to attack Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Farhat later become known as Umm Nidal – mother of Nidal. After Nidal was killed by Israeli security forces, Farhat told his 4-year-old son, Imad, that he would be reunited with his father. “You will be a martyr one day,” Farhat told him, “and then you will go and see your dad.” In 2009, she told National Geographic that she was pushing her other children to become ‘martyrs’:
Farhat passed away earlier this year, but she succeeded in passing on her message of hate to the next generation. A month after her death, Hamas’ Al Aqsa TV aired a children’s television program featuring a number of her grandchildren. When the child presenter of the show asks Nidal’s daughter whether she is proud of her father for producing missiles, her response is a simple “yes”. “Would you like to follow in his footsteps?” the presenter asks. “Yes,” she replies again.
Later in the episode, Farhat’s grandchildren join together in song: “Jihad bestows pride and glory upon you when you become a martyrdom-seeker,” they sing. “Oh explosive device of glory – with her blood she created freedom.”
At the end of the show, the presenter praises Farhat. “She raised her children from an early age on love of martyrdom for the sake of Allah, as well as on love of the homeland and its defense. We should learn from them. We should wage Jihad and persevere, in order to liberate this land.”
“The only reason he loved life was Jihad”
In an interview with London-based Arabic-language daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat published in 2002, Farhat explained the process of raising a child to become a suicide bomber. “Because I love my son, I encouraged him to die a martyr’s death for the sake of Allah,” she said. “This is the atmosphere in which the love of martyrdom developed in Muhammad’s soul. I, as a mother, naturally encouraged the love of Jihad in the soul of Muhammad and in the souls of all my sons, all of whom belong to the Al-Kassam Brigades.”
“Muhammad was willing to carry out any martyrdom operation… He swore to me that the only reason he loved life was Jihad,” she continued. “He would brandish his weapon and tell me: ‘Mom, this is my bride.’ He loved his gun so much.”
Farhat’s capacity for sacrificing her children and sending them to their deaths knew no bounds. “I wish I had 100 boys like Mohammad,” she said. “I’d sacrifice them for the sake of Allah.” Her grandchildren appear to have received that message loud and clear – and now, they’ve shared it with the tens of thousands of Gazan children who watch Hamas’ Al-Aqsa TV.

The Mother from Hell: A 'Palestinian' heroine

A few days ago, I reported that the Mother from Hell had finally gone to hell. Incredibly, the New York Times on Wednesday published a puff piece obituary that lauded her.
Ms. Farhat, who was also known as Umm Nidal, had liver and bowel diseases, according to the Web site of the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Hamas movement, which announced her death.
A photograph on the site showed what was said to be Ms. Farhat’s body, wrapped in a Hamas flag, with an automatic weapon lying across it. Thousands of people, including top Hamas officials, attended her funeral on Sunday. The Hamas prime minister, Ismail Haniyeh, spoke at a service in her honor, according to al-Qassam.
Ms. Farhat was elected to the Palestinian Legislative Council in 2006. Four years earlier, her 17-year-old son, Mohammad, was shot to death after he stormed an Israeli settlement with an automatic rifle and explosives, killing five students. Shortly before the attack, Ms. Farhat made a video in which she appeared with Mohammad to show support for what he was about to do.
“I wish I had 100 boys like Mohammad,” she once said. “I’d sacrifice them for the sake of God.”
Two more of Ms. Farhat’s sons, Nidal and Rawad, were later killed in clashes with Israel.
The Times links a video about the Mother from Hell. Let's go to the videotape.

But it's not just Hamas that honors the Mother from Hell. So does 'moderate' 'Palestinian' President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen. Elder of Ziyon comments:
This sick creature is considered a hero worthy of the greatest honor by Israel's supposedly "moderate" peace partner.

Will President Obama address this issue when he meets Abbas in Ramallah? Will he even pass by the mourning tent on his way to the meeting? That would be a photograph that would haunt him.

If he has any sense of morality at all, if the tent is there Obama should turn around and nix the meeting.
It will be an interesting Thursday....

Mother from hell finally goes to hell

It took five years, but the mother from hell has finally gone to hell.
Mariam Farhat, who said she wished she had 100 sons to die while attacking Israelis, died in a Gaza city hospital of health complications including lung ailments and kidney failure, health official Ashraf Al-Kidra said. She was 64.
The mother of 10 first came to attention in 2002 when she recorded a video with her 19-year-old son, Mohammed, giving him her blessing the night before he undertook a terror attack on the Atzmona settlement.

The video showed Mohammed holding hands with his mother, who prayed for him to become a "martyr," the term Palestinians use for terrorists killed in attacks on Israelis. Armed with grenades and automatic rifles, he broke into a study hall, killing five yeshiva students before he was shot dead by a soldier.

In a video that mother and son made together just before the attack, Farhat said: "I wish I had 100 boys like Mohammad. I'd sacrifice them for the sake of God."

"When I see all the Jews in Palestine killed, that will be enough for me," his mother said on camera. "I wish he will kill as many as he can, so they will be scared."

After Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005, the Farhat family returned to the Jewish settlement where Mohammed undertook the attack. They took what they said was the piece of wire fence Mohammed had cut to get in, and mounted it on an outer wall of their home.

Farhat had two other sons who were killed for terrorist activities and another son is in an Israeli prison.
In 2006, she became one of the few women elected to the Palestinian parliament as a Hamas legislator.

She told The Associated Press that she cried for her slain sons but that "jihad (holy war) comes ahead of everything, including my feelings as a mother.

The world is a better place without Mariam Farhat. Time to stoke the fires of hell.

Wife of Hamas MP: A Woman's Role Is to Instill Love of Jihad and Martyrdom in Her Children

Osama: Women in Palestine play a great role in raising their children and in encouraging them to wage Jihad for the sake of Allah. This is absolutely the most glorious thing a woman can do. Women play their role and are not inferior to men. When a man goes to wage Jihad, his wife does not say "Don't go" or try to stop him. She encourages and supports him. She is the one who prepares his equipment, bids him farewell, and welcomes [his Jihad]. She instills in her children the love of Jihad and martyrdom for the sake of Allah. If every mother were to prevent her son from waging Jihad for the sake of Allah, who would wage Jihad? Who would support Palestine? Palestine is dear to us, and its price is paid with our body remains and our lifeblood. Is not Allah's reward precious? Allah's reward is Paradise. Paradise requires from us our blood, our body remains, and our efforts for its sake.
[...] Sister, Jihad is ordained for us. It is our duty to wage Jihad, because either we wage Jihad or...
Interviewer: We want to die as martyrs.
Umm Osama: Indeed we do. I am constantly praying: "Allah, make the end of our days be in martyrdom." I pray for this even for my husband and my children. None of us want to die in our beds. We pray that Allah will grant us Paradise. [...]

A proud mother of a terrorist

The Islamic Jihad Saraya website has a lengthy tribute to one of the terrorists the IDF recently killed, Ayman Rafiq Hassan Eslim.

The article says that the Zionist enemy deprived his children of having a father, even as it notes that he shot rockets towards Israel immediately before he was killed by a missile.

His family poses in front of his "martyr" poster:

But his mother, in the center, is the most interesting member of his family.

[Eslim's mother]said, "Ayman was an tireless ascetic worshiper, reading the Koran at night and crying, and although his work was difficult he was doing his jihadist duty wholeheartedly and consistently. Since his childhood Ayman talked of Jihad and resistance and he was influenced by the thinking and approach of [Islamic Jihad founder] Martyr Fathi Shikaki... "

The mother said that she was expecting his death every moment, although she constantly encouraged him to continue jihad and to perform his sacred duty, saying: "I knew very well that the road pursued Ayman through difficult and end either victory or martyrdom and despite the bitterness of parting, but I encourage him and Ahvzh to uphold this approach inherent. "

She "knew he was lonely while firing rockets" and would iron his shirts, and sometimes prepare food for his fellow terrorists.

The loving mother also proudly recalled how Ayman would pray to be killed in battle.

For all other Gaza mothers out there with the same wish, any nearby collaborator can ensure that their perverted dreams come true.

PMW: Palestinian Arab mother proudly places suicide belt on her son

From Palestinian Media Watch: The Facebook page for Fatah in Lebanon has posted this picture of a mother dressing her young son with a suicide belt. This picture was posted on the Fatah site together with an imaginary conversation between the son who is being sent to his death and the mother encouraging it.

"My mother dressed me in a strange belt (i.e., a suicide belt).
I asked her: 'What is this, mother?'
She said: 'I will put it on you and you will go to your death!'
I said to her: 'Mother, what have I done that you want me to die?'
She shed a tear that hurt my heart and said: 'The homeland needs you, son. Go and blow up the sons of Zion.'
I said to her: 'Why me and not you?'
She said: 'I will stay in order to give birth to more children for the sake of Palestine.'
I kissed her hand and said to her: 'Keep it up, mother, for you and for Palestine I will kill the impure and the damned.'"

That photo has been going around the Internet for a couple of years; not sure where it originally came from.  PMW gives lots of other examples of encouraging children to kill themselves for the cause.

Islamic Jihad mother happy that her fifth son is "entering Paradise"

The Islamic Jihad website Saraya has an article about Khansa Fatima Sheikh Khalil, a Gaza mother who has had five of her terrorist sons killed "in martyrdom."

She is looking forward to joining her sons in paradise.

The article says that she did not cry for more than five minutes upon news of her son Ahmad's death on Saturday.

She expressed joy and praised Allah for what happened, and expressed hope that her sons are all accepted into Paradise where they would be, presumably, happily screwing a bunch of virgins for eternity.

Khalil also expressed her fervent wish that Islamic Jihad continue to create Jewish widows and orphans. She called on Allah to grant success to the "resistance" and to defeat the Jews for "our land."

She has two more sons left, as well as two daughters. Ahmed also leaves behind three wives.

One of Ahmad's remaining brothers said "we always expected him to be killed."

You see? Terrorist families are just like everyone else. You just have to understand their culture, and show empathy for them.

Are Arab mothers 'just like us'?

Richard Landes argues that liberal cognitive egocentrism - as reflected by the insistence that 'Palestinian' mothers are just like our own - is a weapon in the cognitive war that Islam wages against us.
I remember hearing the same from Ted Koppel at the outbreak of the intifada. Hosting a program in which he had to have the Israelis separated from the Palestinians – on the insistence of the Palestinians – he responded to one Israeli claiming that the Palestinians wanted war: “I don’t believe that for a minute. A Palestinian mother cares about her children every bit as much as an Israeli mother.”

It was indeed these dogmatic kinds of politically correct statements that led me to formulate the expression “liberal cognitive egocentrism.” This kind of thinking, whichEdward Saïd insisted we – not the Arabs – adopt, is a major element in the cognitive war that Islam wages against us, and creates an extensive epistemological confusion in which we cannot identify the problems or analyze how to resolve them. The editors of the NYT, and their major columnists like Friedman, Kristof, and Cohen, all participate in this liberal, PC dogma, and accordingly, find themselves constantly ignoring reality and coming up with ludicrous solutions. (As Pierre Taguieff pointed out long ago, when all the fishes swim in the same direction it’s because they’re dead.”)

Indeed, as long as you believe that the Palestinians are “just like us” and all they want is a state of their own, and their terror is a sign of the desperation at not getting what everyone else has (rather than aspiration to destroy someone else’s), then obviously, Bibi (and any other Israeli leader who doesn’t retreat to the 67 boundaries) is responsible for the impass which – everyone knows – could be resolved, in the words of one BBC commentator,by email. Never mind that in the real world, people who pursue these satisfying if fantastic solution end up looking – at best – like keystone cops.
