The libel that Jews use the blood of non-Jews to make matzah for Passover originated in 1144 with the fabricated story of William of Norwich, England. The Arabs continue to use this libel, and the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) has translated and posted a television interview with an Egyptian lawmaker who chose to disseminate this false accusation.

Khaled Al-Zaafrani, founder of the Egyptian Justice and Progress Party, made the comments in the interview which aired on Al-Hafez TV on May 12, 2013.

“It is the Jews who have instigated wars in the world,” Zaafrani said during theinterview. “They instigated World War I, as well as World War II, and they will keep on instigating wars. The Jews cannot live without wars, conspiracies, deceit, and deception. We can rest assured that the Jews will not seek or uphold peace.

“It s well known that during the Passover, they make matzos called the ‘Blood of Zion,’” he continued. “They take a Christian child, slit his throat and slaughter him. Then they take his blood and make their [matzos]. This is a very important rite for the Jews, which they never forgo.”

Asked by the interview whether the Jews do this to this day, Zaafrani replied, “Absolutely. The French kings and the Russian czars discovered this in the Jewish quarters. All the massacring of Jews that occurred in those countries were because they discovered that the Jews had kidnapped and slaughtered children, in order to make the Passover matzos.

“Recorded evidence of this is kept in the Egyptian national archives. This happens to this day,” he claimed.

The lawmaker concluded his remarks by claiming, “When this subject is raised, the Jews consider it to be a problem, just like the problem of Hitler and the Holocaust.”

Professor Moshe Sharon of Hebrew University recently told Arutz Sheva that there were still many instances of the false accusations against Jews for allegedly using the blood of non-Jews to make matzah, but that these accusations today are made in the Muslim world, not the Christian world.

He noted that the accusation that Jews use the blood of Christian or Muslim blood is quite common in Islamic literature. Materials printed by Hizbullah, Hamas and other terror groups, along with books sold throughout the Arab world, discuss alleged cases of Jewish use of blood for matzah baking, said Sharon.

ELDER OF ZIYON: Miftah deliberately ignored PA incitement and delegitimization - and supported terrorists as heroes

Miftah, the Palestinian Arab NGO that has published a blood libel and has extolled terrorism (but deleted the offending articles when they were made public), has another initiative that has been dormant for a few years but is still very enlightening.

It is called the Media Monitoring Unit, and its goals are set forth as:

• Monitoring Palestinian Media.

• Research and advocacy activities aiming to reduce incitement, dehumanization and delegitimization of "the other"

• Educating the public to become more critical media consumers

• Fostering professionalism in the Palestinian media

In fact, Miftah teams with an Israeli organization, Keshev, an organization that monitors Israeli media from the Left. Keshev would look for bias and anti-Arab incitement in Israeli media and Miftah's unit would purportedly look for the same in Palestinian Arab media.

Miftah's part of the initiative seems to have only been active from 2008 to 2010, and some ten  reports were written and released during that time period.

Amazingly, during those two years, Miftah could not find a single example of anti-Israel or antisemiticincitement in Palestinian Arab media. No delegitimization! No dehumanization!

While a couple of the reports would imply that newspaper use of the word "martyr" to describe suicide bombers is not strictly accurate, Miftah never said that this glorification of terrorism in the media reaches the level of incitement. Moreover, the many cases of pure antisemitism and maps that erase Israel in the print and broadcast media - well documented by Palestinian Media Watch - are uniformly ignored, by the very unit that is supposedly meant to search for it and fight against it!

If a map of "Palestine" that erases Israel is not an example of delegitimization, then what is?

The steering committee of the Media Monitoring Unit included Hanan Ashrawi and Joharah Baker.

In what can only be considered a massive waste of Western money, this unit was funded by the EU and the Ford Foundation.

Even worse, in the cases that incitement was found and publicized by Israeli sources, Miftah would tend todeny that any incitement existed, and would defend the PA's honoring of terrorists. Here is Miftah's Joharah Baker in an official Miftah editorial, "Let Us Honor Our Own":

When Palestinians named a square after Dalal Al Mughrabi, a Palestinian fighter who was killed during a military operation against Israel in 1978, Israel was up in arms, claiming the Palestinians should not be allowed to name streets or squares after “terrorists.” Israeli watchdog groups and the Israeli government play on the fact that Palestinians have named streets after Abu Jihad (Khalil Al Wazir) and Yehya Ayash. The prisoner stipends are just the latest episode in the drama.

...Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails are a whole other ballgame. These men and women are not imprisoned for stealing cars, or for selling drugs. They are there because they are resisting a belligerent military occupation of their land, which has oppressed them and their people for decades. The PA’s allocations to prisoners and their families is in no way an endorsement of “terrorism and violence” but rather a means of helping mostly young men and women and their families to resume a life that has been interrupted by an occupying authority. Any other country would have done the same.

Besides, countries should not interfere in the internal affairs of others. If the Palestinians want to name a street after one of their national heroes, regardless of how this person is perceived by Israel, that is their business.

Instead of promoting peace and fighting incitement, Miftah defends incitement and supports the terrorists as national heroes. (Notice how even Dalal Mughrabi, responsible for the deaths of 13 children, is considered a heroine by Miftah.)

If Mughrabi is a national hero, then Miftah can' t be too serious about being upset that newspapers refer to terrorists as "martyrs." Indeed, their objection to that is seen to be more from the perspective of accuracy rather than incitement and nationalistic support of terrorist acts.

The media review unit seems to have run out of funding. Considering that it spent more time obfuscating Palestinian Arab incitement and dehumanizing Israelis rather than exposing it, this is probably a good thing.

When will the remaining funders of this NGO that promotes incitement against "the other" realize that their money is being used for the exact opposite of what they intended?

More blood libels in Egyptian and Palestinian Arab media Egyptian newspaper Misr El Gdida has another article about how Jews drink Christian blood for their holidays.

Yes, this is really the illustration accompanying the story.

This is part 2 of an article I noted a couple of weeks ago, but written by a different author. This one starts off 
with fake Talmudic quotes about how killing gentiles is obligatory - and goes downhill from there.

It goes on to say that the legend of Dracula is actually true in that Jews love drinking blood, and claims that Jewish historians confirm the ritual slaughter of Christian babies.

Apparently, Jews don't only drink blood as part of Purim pastries and Passover matzoh, but also during weddings and circumcisions.

The article even sarcastically notes that French actress Brigitte Bardot was against Muslim ritual animal  slaughter, but never said a word about Jewish ritual murder!

Then it goes through a history of blood libels in the Arab world, ironically proving how ingrained Arab antisemitism is. It brings examples of the libel from Egypt in 1881; Syria in 1810, 1840 and 1890; and in Lebanon in 1824, 1826, 1829 and 1834. The Rhodes blood libel is mentioned as well, along with  the long history of false accusations of the blood libel in medieval Europe.

Naturally, no Arab has publicly condemned the newspaper for its libel against Jews.

Just as naturally, human rights organizations are silent, as usual.

Egyptian newspaper publishes TWO articles saying Jews drink gentile blood on Passover

Egypt's Misrelgdida ("New Egypt") newspaper features not one but two articles on Tuesday that promote the libel that Jews drink Christian - and Muslim - blood on Passover.

The first one is written by a Palestinian Arab, Mennat al-Sayed. He gives a "history" of Passover blood rituals that, he claims, continues, at least in some form, to this day against Arabs.

In the past, al-Sayed says , Christian neighbors of Jews were  scared of the holiday because they were worried if they would travel they would be abducted and ritually slaughtered for their blood. Jews would hunt for Christian babies who never tasted wine and stab them to death in a ceremony in the synagogue, after which they would distribute the blood to drink four cups of "wine" during the Passover seder, while singing and dancing with their families.

Today, the writer goes on, the Jews are keeping this tradition by killing every single Palestinian in cold blood. Al Sayed says that the Jews' habits haven't changed and they continue to slaughter Arabs in every possible gruesome manner. He concludes by saying that Jews continue to (symbolically) eat food made from Palestinian Arab blood cooked with the flames of their suffering.

The second article is written more as a set of interesting facts about Jews and Passover. Written by Amr Abdel Rahman, the managing editor of the paper, it is entitled "When the Jews drank the blood of Egyptians on Passover."

Recently Jews celebrated their important Passover holiday, and this feast - for those who do not know - includes bloody and exciting rituals, and the most exciting of these rituals were probably still practiced secretly in Egypt by some members of the Jewish community ...

One visit to the Jewish Quarter brings controversial information, although it is not documented well - only signs and signals and tales on the tongues of some Egyptians who are afraid to talk about the customs and religious traditions of Jews while they lived here long ago, before finally departing in the late seventies.

"Uncle Hussein," a food seller, lives next to one of their synagogues. He says that that the Jews they had many holidays throughout the year and they were performing their prayers on a regular basis and they required to ten people to complete their prayers... Strangely enough, says "Uncle Hussein, "Despite being neighbors to them over the years, many of the rituals were carried out in the framework of mystery and secrecy and out of sight as they were held often in complete darkness, which made us wonder always about the nature of the rituals that take place inside the temple!"

For our part, we can not overlook the fact that the famous ritual for Jews, especially in their holiday of "Purim," which is followed by "Passover,", they would gather to celebrate and they required human blood in order to do their rituals. It is known that rumors in many countries of the world have talked about the children and girls who were abducted in the locations and times of this holiday in particular, where it is in accordance with the ritual of it has to be the shedding of the blood of people from "internationalist" communities as Jews call people who act contrary to their religion. It is known that these are considered - according to the counterfeit Torah - vile creatures or second-class and thus the Jews can use their blood, just as Muslims slaughtered sacrifices on Eid al-Adha!

"Hanafi Mohammed" - an elderly man - says that he heard from his father the story of a Jewish man who came to the city of Port Said in the late 19th century and lived next to a dealer of Greek nationality for a short period just before the date of Passover holiday. he forced the Greek's eight year old daughter to drink wine against her will. The next day the girl disappeared suddenly before they found her body with her throat cut and it seems to have been mutilated!

In the same context, says Dr. Umaymah Ahmed - a professor of ancient mythology - that during this feast of the Jewish people they are required to provide human blood in order to prepare pastries, in other words, they cannot perform their holiday ritual properly without draining the blood of mankind .. ..!!

This is historically a key reason that they were subjected to persecution and displacement .. In Europe and Asia during different times ..

The victim must be a non-Jewish young adult, of course, either Christian or Muslim. His blood is taken and dried to a powder so they may save the remainder for the next holiday .. The blood must be used where the Christians or Muslim victims are under ten years old...

They extract the blood with extremely sharp needles and put it in the barrel. These needles ensure that the blood exits the victim very slowly, and thus ensures the painful agony of the victim, his torment is pleasure for the vampire Jews who are keen to pursue this ritual in all its details, they love and enjoy it though it is difficult to understand!

The Jewish rabbi then brings to his countrymen complete happiness in their festival, presenting them with pancakes created with the blood of humans ..

It appears that the Muslim versions of the medieval blood libel are even more lurid and sickening than the Christian versions were centuries ago. And this one can be published on the Internet, instantly, to immediately create the next generation of antisemites who believe what they read in the newspaper.

This comes on the heels of the Miftah NGO publishing a similar screed in Arabic last month. Miftah has refused to publish an Arabic language apology for that article, ensuring that Arabic speakers continue to believe the most disgusting lies about Jews and contrary to its stated goals of peace and harmony.

The Misrelgdida  newspaper describes itself by saying "We believe in credibility and transparency and strive to symbolize the new Egypt..The truth is the basis of our profession, and we believe in humanity and compassion, and that justice is the basis of our humanity, and believe in the future as long as we are alive."

Enlightened, progressive Westerners know that this is nothing to worry about. They know that all Arab antisemitism will go away if Israel just makes more concessions, and it isn't really antisemitism anyway but a sophisticated form of anti-Zionism, which is admirable.

Jews get so touchy when they are accused of ritually slaughtering Christians and drinking their blood, don't they?

PMW: PA mayor: Israeli army shapes explosives like toys to target Palestinian children

In an interview on PA TV News, PA Mayor Mustafa Fuqaha claimed that the Israeli army deliberately "targets children and young ones." The mayor accused the Israeli army of leaving behind explosives "shaped like pens and toys" after training exercises "to tempt children to touch them or pick them up." 



Palestinian Media Watch has reported how similar libels were voiced by the PA during the PA's terror campaign (the Intifada). In 2003, PA TV viewers were told that Israelis "drop objects from jet planes that attract children to play with them and then they blow up. These are bombs and mines designed as toys."

In 2001, the official PA daily claimed that Israel had taken "a new step aimed to kill more children" by throwing "large quantities of poisoned candies in front of two schools." The paper reported on a medic who, "when he collected ten pieces of these unwrapped candies, [he] felt the rubber glove on his hand melting, in addition to experiencing breathing difficulties, strong headache, and dizziness."

These are examples of the PA's systematic program of spreading libels about Israelthat Palestinian Media Watch continues to document.

PA TV newsreader: "What kinds of explosives are left [by the Israeli army after training]? We are talking about the explosions they cause."

Some are in different shapes to tempt children to touch them or pick them up. This is a real danger and real proof that the Israeli army targets children and young ones."

Arab TV show discusses how Jews bake matzoh with human blood

Dr. Salman bin Fahd al-Odah, Assistant Secretary General of the Federation of Muslim Scholars, spoke in awide-ranging interview on a Ramadan TV program that was shown throughout the Arab world.

Al-Odah's topic was - Jews. 

He spoke approvingly of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, as well as an Arabic book called "Stones on the Chessboard" with a similar theme.

He engaged in a bit of Jew-washing, approvingly referring to Norman Finkelstein as for his "courageous positions against the Holocaust" narrative, saying it is greatly exaggerated and that Jews set up museums to play up sympathy for themselves.

He said that Jews are the most racist people, and that the Koran describes Jews as treacherous and murderous. He also said that the final battle between Muslims and Jews is soon in coming.

He talked about the fact that the Arabic translation of the Talmud is being sold at the Riyadh Book Fair, and he approves, because he says that the translation are a weapon for Muslims to prove the mentality of the Jews.

He then went on to say that the Talmud and other Jewish holy books demand the murder of non-Jewish children in order to make matzoh for Passover, and he said that this is documented historically as well as in an Arabic novel called "The blood of the unleavened bread of Zion." He also said, as proof, "I read a story that a doctor was working in a lab and he lived near a Jewish family so they asked him about human blood, and he began to investigate only to discover that scandal" that Jews bake matzoh with human blood.

This sort of anti-semitism is mainstream Arab TV fare.

Iran Declares War against the Jewish People by Alan M. Dershowitz

The Iranian government, long known for its Holocaust denial and anti-Zionism, has now declared war against the Jewish people. In a speech delivered in Tehran, Vice President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi accused the Jewish people of spreading illegal drugs around the world, killing Black babies, starting the Bolshevik Revolution and causing many of the world's other ills. His "proof": "The Islamic Republic of Iran will pay for anyone who can research and find one single Zionist who is an addict. They do not exist. This is the proof of their involvement in drugs trade."

There are, of course, numerous addicts among Jews and Zionists, as there are among all groups. Israel has several treatment centers for drug addicts as do Jewish communities throughout the world. He also cited "proof" that the Jews caused the Bolshevik Revolution: not a single Jew was killed during that Revolution. Of course, thousands of Jews were murdered during the Bolshevik Revolution as well as during Stalin's purges in the decades following the establishment of the Soviet Union.

But don't expect truth from a country whose leaders deny the existence of even a single gay person in all of Iran.

Vice President Rahimi cited the Talmud as the source of his claptrap and in support of his claim that Jews believe that they are racially superior and that "God has created the world so that all other nations can serve them."

These bigoted claims would be laughable if they did not have such a long and disturbing history. Virtually everything stated by Vice President Rahimi came directly out of Hitler's playbook of the 1930s and Stalin's playbook of the 1940s and 50s. They must be taken seriously in light of the fact that Iran is seeking to develop nuclear weapons and has already called for the Jewish state to be wiped off the map. Moreover, Iran's surrogate, Hezbollah, has invited all the Jews of the world to move to Israel so that it will be easier to destroy them in one fell swoop.

Taken together, these statements and actions constitute a clear incitement to genocide, which is explicitly prohibited by international law and by the rules governing the International Criminal Court. Professor Irwin Cotler, the former minister of justice and attorney general of Canada, has drafted a brilliant brief making the case for indicting the Iranian leaders for inciting genocide against the Jewish people. Vice President Rahimi's speech constitutes additional evidence of that crime, if any were needed.

If the leaders of Iran are guilty of incitement against the Jewish people, as they plainly are, they have many coconspirators and facilitators. In recent years these have included several prominent church leaders, such as Cardinal Glemp of Poland, Father Daniel Berrigan of the United States, Cardinal Rodriguez of Honduras, Bishop Tutu of South Africa and numerous others who have crossed the line from anti-Zionism to overt anti-Semitism.

Cardinal Glemp, while serving as the primate of Poland, accused the Jews of bringing Communism, alcoholism and poverty to Poland. He also accused them of provoking anti-Semitism. Father Daniel Berrigan characterized the Jewish state as "a criminal Jewish community" that "manufactures human waste." A current cardinal of the Catholic Church Oscar Andres Rodriguez Meridiaga, who is the archbishop of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, has been telling anyone who is willing to listen that "the Jews" are to blame for the scandal surrounding the sexual misconduct of priests toward young parishioners! How did Cardinal Rodriguez ever come up with this ridiculous idea? Here is his "logic:" the Vatican is anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian. It follows, therefore, that "the Jews" had to get even with the Catholic Church, while at the same time deflecting attention away from Israeli injustices against the Palestinians. The Jews managed to do this by arranging for the media which they, of course, control to give disproportionate attention to the Vatican sex scandal.

Not to be outdone, Anglican Bishop Desmond Tutu, claims that Americans are frightened of excessive Jewish influence in America because "the Jewish lobby is powerful—very powerful." He compared the Jewish influence in America to that of "Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Pinochet, Milosevic and Idi Amin"—all of whom who were "powerful, but in the end they bit the dust."

And now joining in the incitement is Pulitzer Prize winning author Alice Walker, who says that the situation of Arab citizens in Israel is much worse that what Blacks experienced in the South during Jim Crow, thus trivializing the suffering of her own people about which she has written so poignantly! She has now decided to withhold her writings from all readers of Hebrew, the language of the Jewish people.

These hateful voices, from the left, the right and the center, are influencing conduct around the world. Anti-Semitic violence is increasing as is anti-Semitic incitement. The time has come to take this threat seriously, whether it comes from absurd sources such as Iran or more respected personages such as Bishop Tutu and Alice Walker.

I am not seeking to constrain freedom of expression through governmental censorship. I am asking people of good will to condemn all anti-Jewish bigotry even when expressed by those who are admired, and to take action against the danger posed by the noxious combination of radioactive words and radioactive weapons.

The Talmud instructs Jews to kill Christians and use their blood to make Passover matzahs, a Jordanian writer claimed in an article published on a Palestinian website in March, the Middle East Media Research Institute reported Monday.

In an article published on the Gaza-based website Alwatanvoice.com on March 27 and quoted by MEMRI, As'ad Al-'Azouni, a Jordanian of Palestinian origin, writes: "It is no secret that the Jewish hostility toward Jesus and the Christians is very deep ... We have not forgotten that [the Jews] are commanded to kill Christian children and use their blood to bake matzahs for the [Passover] holiday ... The Jews are also forbidden from eating the flesh of an animal slaughtered by a Christian, and are obligated to burn and destroy the icons of the Christian Church."

"Rabbi Moshe Abu Al-'Afia [one of the Jews implicated in the 1840 Damascus blood libel] maintained that the Talmud permits shedding blood of two kinds: the blood of the [Passover] sacrifice and blood of circumcision. And if there is no Christian blood available [for baking the Passover matza], then Muslim blood may [be used], since many Christians converted to Islam," Al-'Azouni writes.

The Jordanian writer also blames Jews for provoking animosity between Muslims and Christians. "The Jews make great efforts to cause war between the Muslims and Christians, like what happened during the protest over the disappearance of a Christian boy in Damascus in 1890."

Al-'Azouni says, "This proves only one thing, namely [the extent of] the Jews' influence on, and infiltration of, all circles in Christian societies and even Muslim ones, and their success in harming anyone who opposes them and exposes the secrets of their Talmudic hatred."

In a previous article written by Al-'Azouni last year in a Jordanian newspaper, and quoted by MEMRI, he wrote, "Israel is a peace rejectionist. That much is obvious. But what people don't know is the reason for this — namely, that Jews and peace are generally incompatible. [The Jews] are the epitome of corruption, and this is what caused the Christian West to commit inhuman acts [against them] and to violate international laws. I am referring to the [West's] scheme to expel the Palestinians from their land and hand it over to the Jews as their national homeland ... For Israel, war is an opportunity to gain sympathy by any means."

PMW: PA daily: "Jews, Jews! Your holiday [Passover] is the Holiday of Apes"

An article in the official PA daily newspaper claims that Palestinian Christian youth perform a spring march in the streets that includes the chant: "Jews, Jews! Your holiday [Passover] is the Holiday of Apes." (See PMW web sitefor examples of the Palestinian Authority referring to Jews as "apes and pigs.") He writes that these "meaningful messages" are in response to Israel's security measures in Jerusalem during the holiday of Passover:

"For many years the holy city [Jerusalem] has been deliberately closed to Palestinians, under security-related pretexts and for the Jewish festival of Passover."

The writer says that the Easter services in Jerusalem have lost their Palestinian flavor because of western Christian pilgrims:

"The festivities at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre have begun to assume a western character, because of the massive presence of foreign Christian pilgrims and the limited presence of Palestinians."

But the writer insists that in Palestinian Authority cities, the festivities have retained their Palestinian flavor. He describes youth chanting that the Jewish holiday of Passover is the "Holiday of the Apes":

"The spring carnival has retained its [Palestinian] flavor in towns such as Bethlehem, Beit Sahour and Ramallah... with the demonstrations of the Scouts, songs, dances, and popular Palestinian hymns about Christian-Islamic unity and internal Christian unity. These hymns carry meaningful messages, in response to the Israeli prohibition [to enter Jerusalem], as seen in the calls of the youth who lead the procession of light, waving swords and not caring if anyone accuses them of anti-Semitism: ... 'Our master, Jesus, the Messiah, the Messiah redeemed us, with his blood he bought us, and today we are joyous while the Jews are sad,' and, 'Jews, Jews! Your holiday is the Holiday of the Apes, while our holiday is the Holiday of the Messiah.'"
