A Satirical Look At What Happens When A Haredi Man Sneezes
The video seems pretty obvious, showing the secular surroundings like the Wild West, with violence and crime, while the policeman dozes. When the haredi fellow sneezes, the policeman grabs and arrests him and calls in the troops for backup. It is a sad look at society - both that people look at society and see it functioning like that, and that, to a certain extent, there is a bit of truth to it.
Christian pastor being treated in Israel after acid attack by Muslims
Pam Geller reports that a Muslim who converted to Christianity and was attacked with acid by Muslims after becoming a pastor is being treated in Israel for his injuries (Hat Tip: Jack W).
Umar Mulinde, 38, converted to Christianity from Islam when he was in university. Since then, he has openly criticized Islam, and his ministry has included public debates with Muslims. His wife is a popular gospel singer. But it's okay because the attackers don't represent Islam. Count on it.
The evangelical minister learned about Israel through JerusalemOnlineU.com, which offers online courses about Israel and Judaism. Mulinde went on to teach the courses at his Gospel Life Church International as well as to neighbouring Christian ministers. He also organized a 5,000-person teach-in about Israel in a local stadium.
The acid attack appears to have had religious overtones.
“I was attacked by a man who called out to me shouting ‘Pastor, Pastor’ and I turned to see who he was,” said Mulinde. “Then he poured acid which burnt part of my face. As I turned away from the attacker, another man poured liquid on my back and ran away shouting ‘Allah Akhbar’ (God is greater).”
The acid caused severe burns to Mulinde’s face and torso and damaged his right eye. While in hospital in Kampala, he contacted Andrea Gottlieb, executive director, JerusalemOnlineU.com, and asked whether the school could help him seek more advanced medical treatment in Israel. Gottlieb turned to Professor Zeev Rotstein, director, The Chaim Sheba Medical Center, in Tel Hashomer, Israel. In addition to its global humanitarian work, Sheba has specialized in providing care for eye and burn injuries throughout Africa. Rotstein offered to provide acute and rehabilitative care to Mulinde at no charge.
Romney praises Hezbollah's healthcare system
Romney: ..."Did you notice in Lebanon, what Hezbollah did? Lebanon became a democracy some time ago and while their government was getting underway, Hezbollah went into southern Lebanon and provided health clinics to some of the people there, and schools. And they built their support there by having done so. That kind of diplomacy is something that would help America become stronger around the world and help people understand that our interest is an interest towards modernity and goodness and freedom for all people in the world. And so, I want to see America carry out that kind of health diplomacy..."

From Pamela Geller:
I think the video is stark proof of how clueless Romney is on jihad. His previous statements, "jihadism Is not part of Islam" and "Islam is not an inherently violent faith," show a willful ignorance on a crucial issue facing the nation.
This video is from 2007, when then (and current) Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is holding a town hall meeting in Ottumwa, Iowa. One of the members of the audience asked him if he would commit the money necessary to continue President Bush's AIDS program in Africa as a way to restore good will toward America. His answer, while not picked up on by the members of the audience, absolutely floored me. He started out by agreeing with the premise of the question, touting America's health care system -- then he dropped the bombshell.
Mitt Romney is praising Hezbollah's healthcare system, and says at the end of the video that we should support muslim countries with our legal and healthcare systems to fight jihadism.
We know that a higher education and living standard are not inversely associated with less terrorism. At all. The 911 hijackers were well educated, and some were well off. The Christmas balls bomber was a UK-educated son of a diplomat. The recent arrest of a Texas Muslim was a US boarding school student who became an Al Qaeda homicide bomber. The Glasgow jihadists were wealthy physicians. Osama bin Laden himself was a scion of an extremely wealthy family.
Romney's ignorance and pandering to jihadists are stunning. It's surprising that this vid hasn't been picked up by Newt Gingrich yet. I am sure that what Romney says here would be a significant blow to his campaign if people knew about it. (hat tip Robert W.)
OT but related: Coulter's tirade against Newt on Bull O'Reilly's show last night (watch it here) was not logical or coherent with her positions. Her hatred for Gingrich is visceral, abiding, and inexplicable rationally. There is something more here. Personal, perhaps?
Comparing Newt to Jesse Jackson is an outrageous charge. She is way off base, and O'Reilly ought to have a conservative pundit out as vocal in their support of Newt as she was in support of Romney.
She is ...unhinged, and I hate to use that word because it is used against me with such venom and dishonesty, but you can see she is beside herself. She is staking out positions she wouldn't support in other contexts, like covering for mainstream media reporters.
Romney is more conservative than any of the other candidates? Nuts. More than Santorum? More than Ron Paul, who is largely conservative except for nuts on foreign policy? Something else is happening here. They must know each other and hate each other for some reason we don't know.
Shurat HaDin Warns the PLO's Landlord and Verizon
Yesterday, Shurat HaDin warned the landlord of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s (“PLO”) office in Washington, D.C. and the Verizon telephone company that providing premises, phone lines and other associated services to the PLO is illegal and will expose the landlord and Verizon to both criminal prosecution and civil liability to American citizens and others victimized by PLO-sponsored terrorism. In letters signed by American counsel Robert Tolchin of New York and myself, to Endeka Enterprises LLC, the owner of the premises that house the PLO’s offices and Verizon which provides them telephone service, we demanded that Endeka and Verizon permanently discontinue providing services to the PLO.
We alleged that the PLO is an umbrella group that acts for the benefit of its constituent factions. One of the PLO’s key members is the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (“PFLP”) organization. The infamous PFLP constitutes the second largest faction in the PLO and shares the PLO's budget. Additionally, last month the PLO reached a strategic partnership agreement with Hamas and Palestine Islamic Jihad (“PIJ”) under which the PLO, Hamas and PIJ coordinate activities. The PFLP is officially designated under United States law as a “Foreign Terrorist Organization,” as a “Specially Designated Terrorist,” and as a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist.” Both Hamas and PIJ are officially designated under U.S. law as "Foreign Terrorist Organizations."
As the letters state, “The PLO’s funding is shared and distributed among its constituent members, including the PFLP. The PLO’s activities are carried out specifically for the benefit of its constituent members, including the PFLP. Similarly, pursuant to their recent leadership merger agreement, Hamas and PIJ will also be recipients of these services and benefits."
Accordingly, the law is strict when it comes to aiding and abetting terrorism. In the letter we cited the United States Supreme Court’s recent ruling in the case of Holder v. Humanitarian Law Project, ––– U.S. ––––, 130 S.Ct. 2705 (2010), which found that providing any assistance or support to terrorists, including putatively benign forms of assistance (such as providing rental space or telephone services) is criminal. As such, the provision of premises and telephone services to the PLO, which ultimately inures to the benefit and interests of the PFLP, Hamas and PIJ, all designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations, would constitute the type of seemingly innocuous material support that would render companies criminally and civilly liable. This includes liability for terrorist attacks carried out by the PLO, PFLP, Hamas or PIJ.
The PFLP, which is a designated terrorist organization that American citizens and companies are prohibited to provide services to, is an integral part of the PLO and shares the PLO’s budget. Thus, by providing services to the PLO, companies like Enedka and Verizon are in fact providing services to and benefiting the PFLP, and thereby violating federal anti-terrorism laws and aiding and abetting Palestinian terrorism.

'I have joy now,' says Palestinian girl locked up for decade
Imprisoned by her father at the age of 10 and encouraged to commit suicide by her stepmother, 20-year-old Baraa Melhem tastes freedom for the first time • Exercise, an apple a day and a transistor radio are what saved her, she says • "I never want to marry," Melhem declares.

A young Palestinian woman who was imprisoned by her father for 10 years in a series of dark rooms said Monday she survived the ordeal by listening to the radio, dreaming of seeing sunshine again and finding small pleasure in an apple she was fed each day.
Baraa Melhem, 20, said she was enjoying her first taste of freedom after a decade of isolation and threats of rape and abuse, and she hoped to use her experience to help others.
"I have joy now. My life has begun," the young woman said, dressed in red sweat pants, white shoes, a black shawl for warmth and a headscarf.
Melhem was rescued by Palestinian security forces in the West Bank town of Qalqiliya on Saturday after an aunt notified police. Adnan Damiri, a Palestinian police spokesman, said she was found in a "deplorable" condition.
Her father and stepmother, both Arab citizens of Israel, were turned over to Israeli authorities. Locked up in Israel, neither could be reached for comment. The father, Hassan Melhem, 49, is expected to appear in an Israeli court on Wednesday, said police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld. The stepmother's name was not released.
Speaking softly but confidently, Baraa Melhem said she was beaten, barely fed and let out only in the middle of the night to do housework. She was given only a blanket, radio and a razor blade by her father and stepmother, and both of them encouraged her to kill herself.
"I don't hate my father. But I hate what he did to me. Why did he do it? I don't understand," she said.
Melhem said she was first locked up in a bathroom after she ran away from home when she was 10. Police brought her home, and her father forced her to sign a statement saying she did not want to go back to school. Melhem's parents divorced when she was four years old, and her father received custody. Melhem is now living with her mother, Maysoun, in an Arab neighborhood of Jerusalem.
Melhem she said she was finally happy in her new home, a shabby, purple-painted room with pink curtains, four mattresses on the ground and a red blanket. She clutched a large doll that her mother gave her as a gift.
"This is heaven,” she said. “Because you have always been free, you don't appreciate it. But for somebody like me, who has tasted the bitterness of a prison, this is heaven."
Maysoun, who has remarried, refused to give her last name or age. She said she had been so eager to divorce her first husband that when he insisted on keeping their daughter, she agreed. She took their son because the father used to spray perfume into his eyes. She said he was not violent toward the daughter.
"I was so young when I was getting a divorce. I didn't understand anything. I was just so desperate to be rid of that man," she said.
Melhem described her father as a violent man who also terrorized her half-brother and half-sister. Although their conditions were better, they, too, were not allowed to leave the house when their father was not home. She said the siblings, now believed to be staying with relatives, were mentally disabled and were not sent to school.
"Fear, fear, fear -- that was the basis of my life," Melhem said.
Melhem said she kept sane by listening to a small transistor radio that her father gave her in the last five years. She was up to date on news and current events and could name her favorite radio hosts. In one instance, she said, her spirits were lifted when she heard on her radio that her astrological sign was Leo, meaning she had a fiery personality.
Over the years the family moved twice. Each time she was locked up. In her final home in Qalqiliya, she was kept in what she described as a bathroom just one square meter (3 ft.) in size.
She dreamed of fleeing, but said her father threatened to rape her until she became pregnant if she tried to escape. She also said he warned that he would kill her and justify the crime by saying that she had shamed the family -- what is known in Arab society as "honor killing."
She said that when her father was angry, he regularly beat her with electric cables and sticks. He poured cold water on her when she asked for her mother, and sometimes shaved her head and eyebrows. She was let out only late at night to clean the rest of the house. Her father would then lock her back inside before dawn. He gave her bread, oil and an apple every day.
At one point, her father gave her a razor blade, telling her it would be better if she killed herself. Melhem said her stepmother too had urged her to do it, telling her she was a nobody.
To cope, Melhem said she often jumped up and down for exercise, cleaned the bathroom, dusted off her blanket, washed her clothes and then listened to the radio all day.
Hala Shreim, a social worker who accompanied police on the rescue, said Melhem was found in a small bathroom with a tiny window. She said Melhem was wrapped in a blanket and was wearing threadbare clothes so old that they were disintegrating.
When she was taken outside, Melhem said she was blinded by the pale winter sun. It was more sunlight than she had seen in 10 years.
"Is that the sun? Is that the sun I was dreaming of?" she said she asked police. Melhem said the sight of so many people startled her. "Are those the people I was hearing on the radio?" she asked the police.
Melhem said her first request after she was released, was for hard candy -- something she had been denied since she was a child. Then she asked to see her mother.
Melhem's mother, who remarried and moved to a different town, had asked about her daughter, but her ex-husband would make up excuses why the young woman was not around and sometimes told the mother to mind her own business, social worker Shreim said.
Melhem said she paid special attention to mental health programs on Palestinian radio. She believes that listening to voices from the outside world, modest exercise and eating an apple each day saved her. Although she has nothing more than an elementary school education, she said she hoped to study psychology and one day treat people who had goen through similar experiences.
"There is no house in the world -- look outside the window. In every house, somebody is suffering," she said.
Asked if she hoped to marry, Melhem became visibly upset. "If the violence I experienced was between a father and a daughter, what happens between a man and a wife? No, I never want to marry," she said.
There have been a few similar known cases in the West Bank over the years. In 2008, Palestinian police discovered two disabled siblings, a man and a woman, whose family had locked them for decades in concrete rooms that stank of excrement and sweat. The family was ashamed of the siblings’ disabilities and feared they would ruin the marriage prospects of their healthy brother.
In perhaps the most notorious such case worldwide, that same year Austrian police discovered a man who had imprisoned his daughter in a windowless cellar for 24 years and repeatedly raped her, fathering her seven children.

The Mossad strikes again in Iran?
A senior military officer was killed on Saturday morning in Iran by motorcyclists.
A 43-year-old Iranian military officer was shot to death on Saturday by two motorcyclists in the city of Khorramabad, local media reported.I thought the Mossad didn't work on the Sabbath.... Heh.
Another soldier was injured in the incident. The two assailants fled the scene, according to reports.
The incident occurred when the motorcyclists fired shots at a group of soldiers who were on their way to an air force base located near the city, Israel's Channel 2 reported.
The local head of security forces said the incident occurred at 6:30 am. "The search for the assailants continues, and we have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident," he said.
A senior official in the Lorestan province, where Khorramabad is located, said that according to eyewitnesses "many bullets were fired at the soldiers, causing great panic in the area."
The Mehr news agency said the killed mid-level officer was identified as Raze Ali Fimani.

In October 2010 18 Revolutionary Guard members were killed and a number of others were injured during an explosion at a military base near Khorramabad, located some 480 kilometers (about 300 miles) southwest of Tehran.

Interview with woman who escaped 'honor killing' in 'Palestinian territories'
Another myth we often hear about Islam is that there are no honor killings. Here is testimony from a woman who was set on fire because she was pregnant and somehow survived. It's from French television and the woman was from the 'Palestinian territories.' I would love to have heard the entire interview because in addition to the (all-too-typical) story, she also mentions being taught to hate Jews.

Please pray for Rav Elyashiv
Arutz Sheva reports thatRav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv's health is deteriorating and asks that all pray for him.
The condition of 101-year-old Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv is deteriorating, and his spokesman told Arutz Sheva, “He needs mercy from HaShem.”The name given at the end of the article is inaccurate. Rav Elyashiv's name is Yosef Shalom ben Chaya Musha.
Medical tests last Thursday at Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem revealed that the Torah sage has water in his lungs and that his heart is working only at 20 percent capacity.
“Every day that there is no failure in his body systems is considered a miracle,” sources told Arutz Sheva. Doctors decided there was no reason for him to be hospitalized and that it would best for him to remain at home, where he is receiving medicine and medical care.
Shlomo Kook, spokesman for the rabbi, said that rumors of kidney problems and a general failure in his body are totally untrue.
Last week, Rabbi Elyashiv was able to leave home and attend brit milah (circumcision) ceremony and served as the sandak, the person who holds the baby during the circumcision, after which he underwent routine medical tests at the hospital and was determined to be in serious condition. He served in the same function, Monday morning, at a synagogue next door to his home.
Verizon Warned to Disconnect PLO in Washington
The Israel Law Center (Shurat HaDin) has warned Verizon and a realtor to stop supplying phone service and office space to the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) or face criminal charges.
The civil rights group lawyer, Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, warned the companies in separate letters that they are violating an American law forbidding private groups or individuals to supply aid to terror groups.
The PLO’s 18th Avenue offices in Washington are rented from Endeka Enterprises, and Verizon supplies its phone connections.
Darshan-Leitner explained to Arutz Sheva Monday that a presidential waiver has allowed the U.S. government to deal with the PLO since the days of the Oslo Accords, despite PLO affiliates being declared outlawed terrorist organizations.
She said, “the waiver does not apply to private groups.”
The attorney, who has won hundreds of millions of dollars for terror victims in lawsuits against Muslim terror groups, pointed out that the PLO includes Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the Palestine Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), all outlawed terrorist groups.
She emphasized that the Palestinian Authority (PA), headed by Mahmoud Abbas, recently reached an agreement to cooperate with Hamas and violated the Oslo Accords -- signed by the United States, Israel and the PA -- by becoming a member of the United Nations' UNESCO agency and trying to win full membership in the United Nations.
The Oslo Accords prohibit unilateral actions by Israel and the PA, which were engaged in direct talks for more than two decades for a political solution to their differences.
“The PLO’s funding is shared and distributed among its constituent members, including the PFLP,” the letters state. “The PLO’s activities are carried out specifically for the benefit of its constituent members, including the PFLP. Similarly, pursuant to their recent leadership merger agreement, Hamas and PIJ will also be recipients of these services and benefits."
Darshan-Leitner told Arutz Sheva she would give Verizon and Endeka Enterprises several days to reply before advising the American government justice officials that they are in violation of the law.
She added that the companies also may be liable to lawsuits if the terrorist groups are involved in any future attacks on American citizens, in Israel or elsewhere.
Congress last summer considered a bill that would change the presidential waiver and effectively shut down the PLO's mission in Washington.
Palestinian man allegedly locks up daughter for nine years
Palestinian security forces find 20-year-old woman locked up in man's Qalqilyah home • Father cites "domestic disagreements" as reason for nine-year isolation.

Palestinian security forces arrested a Qalqilya man Saturday for allegedly having locked up his daughter for nine years in a bathroom, the Palestinian Authority's official news agency, WAFA, reported over the weekend. Qalqilya is a major Palestinian city just east of the Israeli-Palestinian security barrier from Kfar Saba.
Law enforcement officials entered the man's house after being tipped off that someone might be locked up in one of the rooms, Israel's Channel 2 reported Sunday.
According to the WAFA report, the man initially refused to let the inspectors into his bathroom, but when police heard cries for help coming from inside, they forced him to hand over the keys. Upon opening the bathroom the door, they found his daughter, who had apparently been living in neglect and isolation in the bathroom with only a mattress and a blanket.
Channel 2 further reported that the father confessed to locking up his daughter, who is now 20, for about nine years, because of "domestic disagreements." The daughter was handed over to the Palestinian Authority's child protective services, while the man has been detained, WAFA reported.
'Israel will notify US just 12 hours before attack on Iran'
During closed meeting, Israeli officials also tell U.S. military chief Gen. Martin Dempsey that Jerusalem will not seek Washington's approval to attack Iran • Meeting comes amid apparent disagreements between the two countries over how to respond to Iran's nuclear program.

Israel will notify the U.S. just 12 hours before it launches a strike on Iran, Israeli officials told U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey last week, according to Army Radio, which was citing a report in the British Sunday Times. The report also said that officials told Dempsey, who was in Israel for an official visit last week, that Jerusalem would not ask for Washington's approval to attack Iran.
The comments were reportedly made during an intense string of closed-door talks between the U.S. military's top general and Israeli leaders Friday, amid apparent disagreements between the two countries over how to respond to Iran's disputed nuclear program.
Dempsey and Israeli leaders kept silent about the exact content of their discussions. The U.S. general was expected to urge Israel not to rush to attack Iran at a time when the U.S. is trying to rally additional global support to pressure Tehran through sanctions to reduce its nuclear program.
Dempsey met Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been warning about the dangers of the Iranian nuclear program for more than a decade.
Dempsey met Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been warning about the dangers of the Iranian nuclear program for more than a decade.
After Dempsey's departure Friday evening, his spokesman, Col. David Lapan, said the meetings "served to advance a common understanding of the regional security environment."
At the start of talks with Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Dempsey said the U.S. and Israel "have many interests in common in the region in this very dynamic time, and the more we can continue to engage each other, the better off we'll all be."
"There is never a dull moment, that I can promise you," Barak replied. His words were released by his office.
Israel believes Iran is close to completing the technology to produce an atomic weapon. Tehran insists its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.
Israel has said it prefers employing international diplomacy to solve the problem, but it has not taken the option of a military strike off the table.
Israel considers Iran an existential threat because of its nuclear program, missile development, support of radical anti-Israel forces in Lebanon and Gaza and frequent references by its president to the destruction of the Jewish state.
In an interview published Friday in the Israeli daily Maariv, recently retired military intelligence chief Maj. Gen. (res.) Amos Yadlin said the U.S. and Israel now agreed that Iran was deliberately working slowly toward nuclear weapons, to minimize international diplomatic pressure and sanctions.
The U.S. and Israel differ about what would be considered unacceptable Iranian behavior that would require a military strike, Yadlin said. "While Israel defines the red line as Iran's ability and potential for a breakthrough, the Americans draw the red line a lot farther away," he said.
Yadlin said the Iranian nuclear program was Israel's "only existential threat," and noted that as well as the possibility of a nuclear attack from Iran, its possession of nuclear weapons would spark a regional arms race.
"In that situation, in a nuclear neighborhood, the chance grows that a nuclear weapon could slip into the hands of terrorists," Yadlin said.
Dempsey also met with Israeli Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz and President Shimon Peres.
"I am sure that in this fight (against Iran) we will emerge victorious," Peres told Dempsey, in comments provided by the president's office. He called Iran a "center of world terror."
Dempsey told reporters he "couldn't agree more" with Peres' "characterization of the common challenge we face."
In between the meetings, Dempsey visited Yad Vashem, Israel's Holocaust memorial and museum. He wrote in its guest book, "We are committed to ensuring that such a human tragedy (as the Holocaust) never happens again ... God bless the victims and protect Israel."
In the past, Netanyahu has sharply criticized Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's denial of the Holocaust and has drawn parallels between the world's treatment of Iran today and its failure to act against Nazi Germany in time to save European Jewry.
Israel to probe Jerusalem mufti's call to kill Jews
Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Muhammad Hussein, on official Palestinian Authority television, preaches that Islamic holy text justifies killing Jews • Netanyahu asks attorney-general to launch investigation • Landau: "Mufti is inspired by Nazi Germany."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday ordered an investigation into the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Muhammad Ahmad Hussein, who called for the killing of Jews in a televised tirade last week.
The prime minister, who has asked Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein to oversee the investigation, said at the weekly Cabinet meeting that the remarks made by the grand mufti, a representative of the Palestinian Authority, should be condemned by every nation in the world.
Netanyahu also spoke about the Iranian threat, saying, "The government of Israel has the right, duty and ability to prevent another extermination of the Jewish people or an attack on our country."
Marking the 70th anniversary of the Wannsee Conference, the 1942 meeting of senior Nazi officials convened to plan the "Final Solution,” Netanyahu said, “There is no shortage of evil dictators even today. The same desire to destroy the Jews still exists, and hasn't changed. What has changed is our ability to defend ourselves, and our determination to do so."
Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs Minister Yuli Edelstein said that the fact that the mufti's remarks had been broadcast on Palestinian Authority television and posted on the official website of the Palestinian Authority was disturbing. "If that is not anti-Semitism, I don't know what is," he said.
Just before the Cabinet meeting, National Infrastructure Minister Uzi Landau (Yisrael Beitenu) said the mufti should stand trial and be thrown in jail. He described the Muslim leader as an "extremist imam who gets his inspiration from Nazi Germany."
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has instructed Israel's ambassadors around the world to condemn the anti-Semitic tirade. Lieberman encouraged the ambassadors to publicly denounce the mufti's remarks, and to approach the governments of their host countries on the issue.
For his part, the mufti told Israel Radio earlier Sunday that he had not in fact encouraged the murder of Jews, but rather had quoted Muslim holy text that makes such a call.
PA Mufti calls for the killing of Jews quoting Islamic Hadith from Palestinian Media Watch on Vimeo.
Last week, Palestinian Media Watch reported that the mufti had said that the murder of Jews was justified by Islamic text. The group said Hussein told television audiences that according to the Hadith, the record of the words and actions of the Prophet Muhammad, Islamic Resurrection would not come until Muslims fought the Jews.
Palestinian Media Watch provided video footage of Hussein's speech in which the mufti says: “Forty-seven years ago the revolution started. Which revolution? The modern revolution of the Palestinian people’s history. In fact, Palestine in its entirety is a revolution, since [Caliph] Umar came [to conquer Jerusalem in 637 C.E.], and continuing today, and until the End of Days. The reliable Hadith, in the two reliable collections, Bukhari and Muslim, says: 'The Hour [of Resurrection] will not come until you fight the Jews. The Jew will hide behind stones or trees. Then the stones or trees will call: ‘O Muslim, servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.’ Except the Gharqad tree [which will keep silent].' Therefore it is no wonder that you see Gharqad [trees] surrounding the [Israeli] settlements and colonies."
In 2006, Hussein said suicide bombings were a "legitimate weapon" in the Palestinian struggle for independence.

Egyptian cleric: "These Jews are a cancer in the body of planet Earth"
Following are excerpts from an address by Egyptian cleric Hazem Shuman, which aired on Al-Rahma TV on September 9, 2011.
Hazem Shuman: What was our response when six Egyptians were killed by Jews on the border? Was the Jewish ambassador summoned? No. Was he expelled from Egypt? No. Was the Egyptian ambassador recalled from Israel? No. So what was the response? Brothers, this is about the honor of the people. I am talking to the Jews in the name of 85 million Egyptians, who hate them from the bottom of their hearts.
[...]
I saw footage of a young Egyptian fighting a lion. He did this for the sake of the thrill. He went into the lion's cage holding a spear, and they filmed him fighting the lion. He got out of the cage after overcoming the lion. I said: By God, young Egyptians who fight lions cannot fight the Jews? Can't they devour the Jews? How many millions of our young men are ready to fight lions... I mean, Jews.
[...]
I address them on behalf of 85 million Egyptians, whose hearts beat with hatred for the Jews, and with the knowledge of what the Jews did to us and of how Allah warned us about them...
I tell them that the battle is bound to come, Allah be praised. The Prophet Muhammad, whose words are divinely inspired, said: "Judgment Day will come when the Muslims fight the Jews." That means that the Muslims will be the ones who engage [in fighting]. It's not just any battle. He said: "The Muslims will fight the Jews, and the stones and the trees will say: Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him." Even the stones and the trees hate them. The battle is bound to come.
[...]
Jews will be Jews, guys. The Jews of today are the Jews of Khaybar, who tried to poison the Prophet Muhammad. They are the Jews of Banu Nadhir, who tried to kill the Prophet Muhammad. They are the Jews of Banu Qaynuqa', who tried to lift up a Muslim woman's dress. Jews will be Jews. We know what you are like, you Jews, and we know your hatred toward the religion of Allah, toward the servants of Allah, and toward the Muslims worldwide.
You will be vanquished, Allah willing, but it will not be us who will vanquish you. It will be Allah. Just like He used wind to vanquish you in the War of the Ahzab, and like He used fear to vanquish you in the Battle of Khaybar, Allah will vanquish you again.
Today, 92% of the world's film industry is in your hands, 90% of the world's famous actors are Jews, and 90% of the giant news networks, like CNN, are in Jewish hands.

Oh nation of Muhammad, Allah says to you: If you fear war with the Jews, brace yourselves for war with Allah. It is either a war with the Jews or a war with Allah. Allah says that the entire nation could be replaced if it is not prepared to sacrifice its blood for the sake of Palestine.
[...]
My message to all the Jews is that the battle is bound to come and you will be vanquished. Allah has promised that you will be vanquished and that we will prevail. I tell you that our Prophet Muhammad, whose every word we believe and whose light we follow - the moment he signed the Hudaybiyya Treaty with Mecca, the first thing he did after the battle with the Quraysh tribe, only 20 days after signing the Hudaybiyya Treaty, he took his army and attacked Khaybar.
Why, oh Messenger of Allah? Because these Jews are a cancer. These Jews are a catastrophe. There is not a catastrophe in the world that is not the handiwork of the Jews. These Jews are a cancer in the body of planet Earth, and if permitted, it will spread and infect the entire body. Getting rid of these Jews is a must.

98-pound weakling begs Iran to negotiate
Last week, it was reported that President Obama sent a letter to Iranian leaders Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Ayatollah Ali Khameni warning them that closing the Strait of Hormuz would be a 'red line.' The Iranians have now released the content of that letter, and I'm sure you'll all be shocked to hear that America's 98-pound weakling is once again begging the Iranians to negotiate.
MP Ali Motahhari said on Wednesday, “In the letter, it has been stated that ‘closing the Strait of Hormuz is our red line’ and they have requested direct negotiations.”What could go wrong?
“In the letter, Obama has announced readiness for negotiation and the resolution of mutual disagreements,” he added.
He went on to say that Obama uttered threats in the first part of the letter and talked about friendship and negotiation in the second part.
...
MP Hojjatoleslam Hossein Ebrahimi said on Wednesday, “Obama’s letter has several parts. Part of it is about this, (namely) that using international waterways is the right of all countries and all should benefit from them. And in this letter, he has described it as the United States’ red line.”
“In the letter, Obama has mentioned cooperation and negotiation based on the interests of the two countries,” Ebrahimi, who is the deputy chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, told the Nasimonline news website.
“He has stated in the letter that they will not take any hostile action against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he added.
Ebrahimi also said, “This is not the first time that Obama has sent a message and letter to the Islamic Republic of Iran. He has repeatedly spoken in a soft tone about the Islamic Republic of Iran, but, in practice, he has not acted accordingly.”
“Obama’s letter indicates that the United States has become afraid of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s might and has realized the point that an arrogant spirit is of no use, and therefore, he has softened his tone when speaking about the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he stated.
He added, “The important issue is that without the Islamic Republic of Iran’s permission, no country can benefit from the Persian Gulf.”

Rafael Advanced Defense Systems - Protector Umanned Surface Vessel (USV) [480p]
The Israeli Navy has a new, unmanned naval vessel at its disposal. It's called the Protector.
The Protector unmanned surface vehicle (USV) is an Israeli-developed unmanned vessel using cutting edge technology. Nine meter long, weighting about 4,000 Kg (8,800 lbs) and reaching a speed of up to 92 Kph (57 mph), the Protector USV is based on former models of unmanned, autonomous, remotely controlled unmanned surface vehicles.
Highly maneuverable and stealthy, the Protector can conduct a wide spectrum of critical missions, without exposing personnel and capital assets to unnecessary risk. Though autonomous, the device can easily be controlled from a shore several miles from the Protector.
Deployed by the Israeli Navy since 2009, the weapon system carried by the Protector USV is based on Rafael‘s Typhoon remote-controlled, stabilized weapon station, capable of operating various small caliber guns. The highly accurate, stabilized weapon station has excellent hit-and-kill probability.
The high-tech equipment installed on the unmanned vessel, such as highly accurate, stabilized weapons station, search radar and a targeting system with day and night capabilities enables the Protector USV a wide variety of operational functions.
Iran cracks down on Barbie; little girls complain alternative 'fat and ugly'
Iran has banned Barbie.
"About three weeks ago they (the morality police) came to our shop, asking us to remove all the Barbies," said a shopkeeper in a toy shop in northern Tehran. So far, at least, I have not heard any stories about Barbie being stoned in the streets. That may yet happen too.
Iran's religious rulers first declared Barbie, made by U.S. company Mattel Inc, un-Islamic in 1996, citing its "destructive cultural and social consequences." Despite the ban, the doll has until recently been openly on sale in Tehran shops.
The new order, issued around three weeks ago, forced shopkeepers to hide the leggy, busty blonde behind other toys as a way of meeting popular demand for the dolls while avoiding being closed down by the police.
A range of officially approved dolls launched in 2002 to counter demand for Barbie have not proven successful, merchants told Reuters.
The dolls named Sara, a female, and Dara, a male arrived in shops wearing a variety of traditional dress, with Sara fully respecting the rule that all women in Iran must obey in public, of covering their hair and wearing loose-fitting clothes.
"My daughter prefers Barbies. She says Sara and Dara are ugly and fat," said Farnaz, a 38-year-old mother, adding that she could not find Barbie cartoon DVDs as she was told they were also banned from public sale.
Pointing to a doll covered in black long veil, a 40-year-old Tehran toy shop manager said: "We still sell Barbies but secretly and put these in the window to make the police think we are just selling these kinds of dolls."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Dutch Righteous Among the Nations Professor Johan van Hulst, aged 101, on Thursday as part of his two-day visit to the Netherlands. The meeting took place after the prime minister's visit to the Dutch House of Representatives where he held a meeting with Chairperson Gerdi Verbeet and with Dutch Senate Chairperson Fred de Graaf.
Born in Amsterdam in 1911, Van Hulst studied psychology and pedagogy at Amsterdam's VU University. During World War II Van Hulst served as principal of the Pedagogical Academy in Amsterdam and was personally involved in saving the lives of hundreds of Jewish children. At that time the Nazi's had separated local Jewish children from their parents, placing them in a creche (child center) before the youngsters were to be transported to concentration camps throughout Europe. With his Academy being adjacent to the facility Van Hulst was able to absorb hundreds of Jewish children, sending them off to various Dutch families for hiding and saving them from almost certain death at the hands of the Nazis.
In light of his unselfish actions, in 1970 Yad Vashem bestowed Van Hulst with a medal and certificate of honor recognizing him as a Righteous Gentile. After the war Van Hulst entered the Dutch political arena where he remained active from 1956 until 1981.
At the meeting Netanyahu presented van Hulst with a copy of the Hebrew Bible, given as a token of appreciation for his efforts to save Jewish lives during World War II. "It is said that whoever saves a single life it as if he saved the whole world, and you saved hundreds. On behalf of the Jewish People and all of humanity, I would like to thank you," said Netanyahu to Van Hulst.
Van Hulst went on to thank the prime minister for the Bible, telling Netanyahu that over the years he has read through the text and is enlightened by it. "I work six days a week and my Sabbath joy is to study the Bible," said the prime minister. Netanyahu went on to mention his father, Benzion Netanyahu, who is also 101 years old.
A seasoned chess champion, Van Hulst also challenged the prime minister to a game of chess adding, "it is my hope that you will act with wisdom so as to bring about peace to Israel and its surrounding nations."
According to the Prime Minister's Office the goal of Netanyahu's visit to the Netherlands is to strengthen ties, advance cooperation and the establishment of an inter-governmental cooperation council. The aim of such a council would be to promote bilateral defense and foreign affairs cooperation and to increase economic collaboration, specifically relating to the private sector, student exchanges, agrotechnology development, research and development, the environment and tourism.
A miracle happened ten years ago at Shaare Zedek - January 22, 2002! Video of reunion between Shayna and Dr. Deeb:
Dr. Maher Deeb saved the life of a young woman
named Shayna Gould who had been studying in Israel for the year. Shayna was a 19 year old Chicagoan who was shot in a terrorist attack. When she arrived at the hospital, according to all reports she was near death with seriously weak vital signs. Dr. Deeb worked tirelessly with his talented staff to perform a miracle and brought Shayna back to life.
Dr. Maher Deeb, an Israeli Arab, was born in Haifa and raised in the Galilee village of Rama in northern Israel and is currently
the Director of the Matloff Department of Cardi-Thoracic Surgery at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. Dr. Deeb received his medical degree and completed his residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Hebrew University Medical School, and was a Clinical Fellow at the Department of General Thoracic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Since joining Shaare Zedek in 2000, Dr. Deeb has played an integral role in saving countless lives while establishing Shaare Zedek as the premier center for thoracic surgery in all of Israel. As an Israeli Arab working in a senior position in a Jerusalem hospital, Dr. Deeb exemplifies Shaare Zedek's status as a model of social co-existence.
Dr. Deeb is perhaps the epitomy of our mission; to provide high-tech medicine combined with compassionate patient care. Ask Dr. Deeb when he takes time off and he will laugh. "It is a very rare day that I am not at the hospital for at least some period of time," says Dr. Deeb. "My patients all have my cell phone number and my pager so that they can reach me whenever they have a question or need immediate medical attention."
