Elder Of Ziyon: Anti-Israel postage stamps from Jordan

In 1964, Jordan issued a stamp showing...Greater Jordan. It included all the land of a certain state that wasn't recognized. No "pre-1967 borders" in this stamp:

In 1969 there was a series of stamps about the "Tragedy of the Refugees" and the "Tragedy in the Holy Land."

This 1973 stamp commemorated the 1968 Battle of Karameh between Israel and Jordan/PLO. Israel destroyed the camp which was responsible for terror attacks but Jordan considered this a victory. Ironically, the battle led to the rise of Black September, which Jordan had to battle and kill thousands of Palestinian Arabs.

Palestine Week, 1973, with map of "Palestine" erasing Israel:

This 1983 series depicted, sometimes gruesomely, the Sabra and Shatila massacres. The stamps falsely say that the massacres were done by Israel.

In 1984, Jordan issued a surprisingly colorful series about Israel's attack on Iraq's Osirak nuclear reactor:

In 1991, Jordan commemorated the first intifada showing a hand throwing a rock - and a peace dove. Again, Israel is erased from the map.

If one violent uprising is worth a stamp, certainly the second one must be worth an entire series. Here are two 2001 stamps celebrating the second intifada:

Jordan also had a series dedicated to the death of Mohammed al Dura that was falsely attributed to Israel:

Klavan's One-State Solution: Give the Middle East to the Jews

Give the Middle East to the Jews
In an effort to bring peace to the Middle East, President Barack Obama has proposed that Israel should return to its 1967 borders in exchange for being annihilated by its enemies. PJTV’s Andrew Klavan has a better idea.

The U.S. Ambassador to Israel trades barbs with Israeli comedians Dan Shapiro makes an unusual appearance on satire TV show, in fluent Hebrew.

Apparently there is a fierce and passionate argument between the U.S. ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that simply can’t be resolved:
What is the best university in Cambridge, Massachusetts?
“Your prime minister went to MIT. That’s a huge point of contention between us - Harvard vs. MIT,” revealed Harvard grad Shapiro in an appearance on Israeli television Saturday night.
Shapiro brought up the school rivalry on the Israeli satire show “State of the Union” as the panel poked fun at the U.S.-Israel relationship - the tongue-in-cheek premise of the appearance was that the panel was on a campaign to recruit Shapiro in a campaign to turn Israel into the 51st U.S. state. Since everyone accuses Israel of being an extension of U.S. power anyway, he said, why not reap the benefits?
The program, called in Hebrew Matzav Ha’Uma, is modeled after classic British satirical panel shows like the BBC’s ‘Have I Got News For You” (think Jon Stewart with a bunch of sidekicks sitting next to him). The Saturday night broadcast marked the show’s season finale and, in Shapiro’s honor, the TV studio was festooned with Israeli and American flags, as he made his entrance to the strains of “Hail to the Chief.”
As the quips began flying fast and furious, the U.S. diplomat had to walk a fine line between joining in the fun and - well - being diplomatic.
And he did so in his signature fluent Hebrew. Past American ambassadors such as Martin Indyk and Daniel Kurtzer have had a working knowledge of Hebrew, but neither felt comfortable enough in the language to banter on Israeli radio and television the way Shapiro does.
In one of a long series of jokes poking fun at the perceived thorny relationship between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Barack Obama, host Lior Schlein pointed out to Shapiro that: “You speak English, Hebrew, and Arabic, which must make it easy for you to pass the message from Bibi to Obama: Dude, give me some space?”
Shapiro laughed and responded: “That only requires one language.”
Schlein then noted that Shapiro hadn’t denied the message.
At another point in the show, panelist, Einav Galili asked Shapiro deadpan: “So it’s clear if there’s going to be peace, all of the sides have to talk, to communicate. So tell us - how exactly do you plan to convince Obama to answer the phone when Bibi calls?”
Another query by Galili: “You are always saying that the relationship between Israel and the U.S. has never been warmer. Are you sure they you aren’t just referring to the fact that they are burning our flags side-by-side in the Cairo demonstrations?”
Shapiro wisely stayed quiet after these cracks were made, but later looked the panel in the eye and asked them, “Do you guys think there’s some kind of problem between Bibi and Obama? I never noticed anything.”
Comedian Alfi Guri chuckled at Shapiro’s presumed naivete. “You sound like a kid with two divorced parents. “
Fellow panelist Einav Galili added: “Yes, yes, like one of those modern-era families with three fathers and two mothers.”
Shapiro interjected diplomatically. “And I love them all.”
After repeated barbs regarding Obama-Netanyahu ties, Shapiro clearly felt the relationship between the two leaders needed some non-comic defense: “They very much respect each other and they know how to work together. All of the cooperation and coordination between our governments start at the top.”
But it wasn’t only the two country’s leaders that were in for some ribbing. The peace process - and Shapiro himself - were fair game too.
Schlein said to Shapiro that: “Obama sent you to Israel, among other thing, to promote his program for peace in the Middle East, but the truth is he could have just as easily sent Jerry Seinfeld, right? Seinfeld is Jewish like you, he’s American like you, and he also has a program about nothing.”
Panelist Orna Banai asked: “You live in Israel and have what all of us dream of: American citizenship. When do you think that Obama will forgive you for whatever it is you did to him and let you go home?”
In a nod to the fact that it is highly unconventional for a diplomat to make an appearance on a hard-hitting satire program, Shapiro said that he saw his role in Israel as not only facilitating communication with government and leaders, but by listening to and speaking with the Israeli public. Judging by the reaction of the panelists, his charm offensive on the eve of the new set of U.S.-sponsored peace talks was quite effective.
When Shapiro said the U.S. and Israel have “no choice” but to face the challenges of the Middle East as partners, Schlein brought up his “51st state” lobbying campaign, interjecting: “No, no, that’s the thing - we do have a choice. Take us as the 51st state. Just think of the advantages. If we become the 51st state, Jonathan Pollard can stay in American prison and he can return to Israel at the same time.”
Shapiro paused and replied: “That’s a very … creative offer...I’ll pass it on.”
Schlein: “Really?!”
Shapiro: “No.”
Taking another tack, Schlein changed his offer. “OK, let’s say you don’t want us us as the 51st state. Why don’t you just let us trade places with New York? We also have millions of Jews and a history of terror attacks, and we also think it would be great to have a statue that’s lifting a torch 100 meters over the sea? (the word for ‘torch’ in Hebrew is “Lapid” - the joke was a jab at embattled Finance Minister Yair Lapid.)
Shapiro retorted: “I think there are so many Israelis living in New York right now that New York could easily become part of Israel, not the other way around.”
The panel also poked fun at the diplomat for the famously expansive U.S. ambassador’s residence by the sea. Guri said, “You live in one of the five most expensive houses in Israel. So when you say there’s enough room in Israel for two states, you mean there’s enough room in your house, right?”
Shapiro replied: “Yes, but they’re going to have to be very small states.”

It’s no secret that Al Jazeera is an Islamic propaganda network.
So, I would say it takes a brave Jew to go on to an Al Jazeera anti-Zionist show, to argue head to head, three on one, while standing his ground.
But that’s what JewishPress.com Contributing Editor Yishai Fleisher did. In fact, it’s obvious he scored quite a few points there, for the good guys, and would have scored more if he had been allowed to talk and respond to the lies and demagoguery – but Al Jazeera didn’t want that to happen.

Bennett: Terrorists Should be Killed, Not Released Economy Minister says he will vote against release of terrorists ahead of peace talks.

Economy Minister Naftali Bennett announced on Saturday night that he would vote against the release of 104 terrorist prisoners, a demand by the Palestinian Authority in order to start peace negotiations.
Bennett said that he has also instructed all the ministers from the Bayit Yehudi to vote against the release as well. The ministers will vote on the release on Sunday morning.
“Terrorists should be killed, not released,” wrote Bennett on his Facebook page. “All my life I fought towards fulfilling the two parts of this sentence. Tomorrow I will vote against.”
He said, "I am the last one who needs to be convinced not to release murderers. I’ve instructed the Bayit Yehudi ministers to vote against.”
Meanwhile, it was reported on Saturday night that Yisrael Beytenu chairman MK Avigdor Lieberman has told ministers from his party that they will be allowed to vote according to their conscience.
It is believed that the move will have a majority in the Cabinet.
In advance of the resumption of the peace talks, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has agreed to release 104 terrorist murderers who committed their terrorist crimes before the signing of the Oslo Accords in 1993. The number is up from the previously discussed number of 82.
The terrorists to be released from captivity will include Israeli citizens. The list of names will be approved by Netanyahu, Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon, Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, Internal Security Minister Yitzchak Aharonovitch and Science and Technology Minister Yaakov Perry, who was chosen because of his past as the head of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet).
Netanyahu took the rare step Saturday evening of publishing a long missive to the Israeli public. In it, he explains why he has agreed to release the terrorists as a "gesture" accompanying talks with the Palestinian Authority. He also states that the talks need to last at least nine months.
"This is a tremendously difficult decision to make. It hurts the bereaved families, it hurts the entire nation of Israel and it hurts me very much,” he wrote.
"It collides with an exceedingly important value – the value of justice.
"It is a clear injustice when evil people are released before the end of their sentences, even if an absolute majority among them have served over 20 years in jail.
"The decision is doubly personally difficult for me, because I and my family know personally the price of bereavement from terror. I know the pain well. I have felt it on a daily basis for the past 37 years.

As the Israeli police and Islamic Waqf have forbidden Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount, it is obvious that this man is NOT praying. No sir. No reason to arrest him at all.
He is simply standing in quiet contemplation.

Eighty-Four Years Ago Today--Arabs Massacred the Jews Of Hebron (While the British Watched)

As Iran moves closer to producing nuclear weapons many people are wondering if Israel will attack the Iranian nukes and what/if any role will the United States have. If Israel decides to preemptively strike the Iranian weapons program, they will not be holding their breath waiting to see if the US will help but because the Jewish State learned a long time ago that it cannot rely on anybody but themselves for protection.

This lesson of self-reliance was learned one Friday evening in August eighty-four years ago (on the Jewish Calendar), when a group of Arab terrorists massacred the Jews of Hebron while the British who ruled over the Holy Land did not lift a finger to prevent the horrible event.

Hebron was the first piece of land ever purchased by the Jews in Israel. Approximately 38 centuries ago Avraham (Abraham) our forefather purchased a cave in Hebron to bury his beloved wife Sarah. Jews had owned land in the city from that sale until the early part of the 20th century (they were the majority of the population most of that time).

In 1929, all that changed. It began on Friday August 23rd, the 17th Day of the Hebrew month of Av.

At about half past two on Friday (August 23) we saw a young Arab arrive by motorcycle from Jerusalem. He alarmed the Arab inhabitants of Hebron, saying that the blood of thousands of Moslems in Jerusalem was being shed like water. He called to the Arabs to avenge this blood. The unrest among the Arabs of Hebron was very strong, particularly after the motor cars began to arrive from Jerusalem with news of disturbances. source

Davar newspaper of August 20, 1929:

Incitement of feeling against the Jews goes on, particularly round Jerusalem and Hebron. Rumors are being spread by unknown persons that on Saturday last the Jews cursed the Moslem religion and that it is the duty of Moslems to take revenge. source

Rabbi Ya'acov Slonim, head of the Sephardic Jewish community, and Rabbi Frank, head of the Ashkenazic community, turned to the Arab Governor of Hebron, Abdullah Kardos. The Governor calmed us and said: `
`There is no fear of anything happening. The British Government knows what it has to do. In the place where two soldiers are needed, it sends six.'' And he added: ``I tell you in confidence that they have many soldiers in the streets, in civilian clothes; these soldiers circulate among the crowds, and in the hour of need they will fulfill their duty.'' source
But that promise was never backed up with action.
On Friday night August 23rd, Rabbi Ya’acov Slonim’s son invited any fearful Jews to stay in his house. The Rabbi was highly regarded in the community, and he had a gun. Many Jews took him up on this offer, and many Jews were eventually murdered in his home

On Saturday morning, before the slaughter began, the Rabbis again appealed to the Governor for help. Again they received the same astounding assurances. Bewildered, they turned to Mr. Cafferata, the British officer in charge of the Police. From him, too, they received assurances of safety.source

As early as 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, the Jewish Sabbath, Arabs began to gather en masse. They came in mobs, armed with clubs, knives and axes. While the women and children threw stones, the men ransacked Jewish houses and destroyed Jewish property. With only a single police officer in Hebron, the Arabs entered Jewish courtyards with no opposition.
Rabbi Slonim, who had tried to shelter the Jewish population, was approached by the rioters and offered a deal. If all the Ashkenazi yeshiva students were given over to the Arabs, the rioters would spare the lives of the Sephardi community. Rabbi Slonim refused to turn over the students and was killed on the spot. In the end, 12 Sephardi Jews and 55 Ashkenazi Jews were murdered.
On hearing screams in a room I went up a sort of tunnel passage and saw an Arab in the act of cutting off a child's head with a sword. He had already hit him and was having another cut, but on seeing me he tried to aim the stroke at me, but missed; he was practically on the muzzle of my rifle. I shot him low in the groin. Behind him was a Jewish woman smothered in blood with a man I recognized as a[n Arab] police constable named Issa Sherif from Jaffa in mufti. He was standing over the woman with a dagger in his hand. He saw me and bolted into a room close by and tried to shut me out-shouting in Arabic, "Your Honor, I am a policeman." ... I got into the room and shot him." (Bernard Wasserstein, The British in Palestine: The Mandatory Government and the Arab-Jewish Conflict 1917-1929, Oxford England, Basil Blackwell, 1991)

Now let me tell you about the massacre. Right after eight o'clock in the morning we heard screams. Arabs had begun breaking into Jewish homes. The screams pierced the heart of the heavens. We didn't know what to do. Our house had two floors. We were downstairs and a doctor lived on the second floor. We figured that we would be safe in the doctor's apartment, but how could we get up there? The stairs were on the outside of the building, but it wasn't safe to go out. So we chopped through the ceiling and that way we climbed up to the doctor's house. Well, after being there only a little while, we realized that we were still in danger because by that time the Arabs had almost reached our house. They were going from door to door, slaughtering everyone who was inside. The screams and the moans were terrible. People were crying Help! Help! But what could we do? There were thirty‑three of us. Soon, soon, all of us would be lost. Letter of a Survivor

When the massacre finally ended, the surviving Jews resettled in Jerusalem. Some Jewish families tried to move back to Hebron, but were removed by the British authorities in 1936 at the start of the Arab revolt. In 1948, the War of Independence granted Israel statehood, but further cut the Jews off from Hebron, a city that was captured by King Abdullah's Arab Legion and ultimately annexed to Jordan.

When Jews finally gained control of the city in 1967, a small number of massacre survivors again tried to reclaim their old houses. Then defense minister Moshe Dayan told the survivors that if they returned, they would be arrested, and that they should be patient while the government worked out a solution to get their houses back. Dayan never got around to it--I guess he was too busy giving away Jewish rights to the Temple Mount.

The Memorial of the Jews of Hebron, as submitted to the High Commissioner of Palestine closes with these tragic words:
In the name of sixty-five slaughtered, fifty-eight wounded, and many orphans and widows; in the name of the remnants of the plundered and tortured we accuse:
  • The [British Mandatory] Government, which did not fulfill its duty and provide protection for its peaceful and defenceless charges.
  • The Governor, Abdullah Kardos, and the Commander, Cafferata, who deprived us of the means of appealing for help and defence, betrayed us with empty promises and gave the murderers and robbers their opportunity.
  • The police, which did not fulfill its duty, and behaved with contemptible baseness.
  • The emissaries of the Mufti and the Moslem Council, in particular the Sheikh Talib Narka and his colleagues, those mentioned above, as well as those who have not been mentioned, who proclaimed the massacre and permitted murder and rape.
  • Also the inhabitants of Hebron (with the exception of some families) who did not rise up to help their brothers and neighbors in accordance with the commandments of the Koran...
In 1929, the Jews of Israel and worldwide learned that they cannot rely on anyone else for protection.

Some 84 years later that memorial still rings true. Arab terrorists are still attacking innocent Jews in Israel. Those who had been appointed by the UN to protect Israel's northern border have nothing to prevent a buildup of terrorists.

Iran is building a nuclear bomb with the intent of first destroying Israel, terrorist are running the Palestinian Territories, but just like 1929 Hebron, just like 1939 Germany,  just like today the world sits back and watches it happen.

People ask me "why can't Israel do what the US Asks?" The answer is they can't because in the end, Israel can never fully trust any other nation even a strong friend such as America.  Israel will must protect herself as she deems appropriate because when push comes to shove history has taught the Jews just like 84 years ago...no one else will.

Rabbi Lau: I am Everyone's Rabbi Rabbi David Lau, the new Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi, says he wishes to create a society whose members respect one another and respect Judaism.

Rabbi David Lau

Rabbi David Lau, who was elected Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi on Wednesday evening, told Arutz Shevaafter his victory that he would be everybody’s rabbi.
Rabbi Lau said he would seek to create in Israel a society that will cherish Judaism and whose members will know to respect one another.
"As I have stated throughout the last few months, I am everyone’s rabbi - I do not belong to one sector or another, but to all of Israel," he said.
Rabbi Lau added that in the city of Modi’in, where he has served as Chief Rabbi until now, he was able to create a good partnership between people who "look for the light in Judaism" and that he now plans to "copy" what he achieved in Modi’in to the national level.
He said he wants to “create a pleasant society which appreciates Judaism and is interested in studying Judaism. A society whose members know how to respect each other.”
"Let's know how to be good friends with one another and hopefully we can achieve this," concluded Rabbi Lau.
The results of Wednesday’s election are viewed as a victory for the hareidi-religious stream, whose candidate, Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, was elected as Sephardic Chief Rabbi.
The two victorious candidates had reached a deal, according to which the supporters of each would vote for the other. Candidates from the religious Zionist stream failed in both the Ashkenazi and Sephardic races.
Deputy Religions Minister, Rabbi Eli Ben Dahan (Bayit Yehudi), voiced his disappointment with the failure of religious Zionist candidates to be elected to the posts of chief rabbis.
"As a member of the Bayit Yehudi I am certainly disappointed that we failed in the mission to at least have one rabbi from the religious Zionist camp elected,” he said. “We put in the maximal effort possible but regrettably, it failed.”
The rabbi added that he hopes the secular public will not “give a kick to the institution of the Rabbinate” out of disappointment with the hareidi candidates elected. “They need to understand that the importance of the institution of the Rabbinate is much more important than the chief rabbis.”

PMW: Fatah honors arch-terrorist by proudly listing 61 of his murders

Fatah glorifies terrorist Abdallah Barghouti as "brave prisoner" because he prepared the bombs for suicide terror attacks that:
- "killed 15 Zionists" at Sbarro restaurant
- "killed 11 Zionists" at Moment Café
- "killed 15 Zionists" at Sheffield Night Club
- "killed 9 Zionists" at Hebrew University
- "killed 11 Zionists" at the Ben Yehuda pedestrian mall

by Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik
Fatah continues to follow Palestinian Authority policy documented byPalestinian Media Watch of honoring terrorists, among them Abdallah Barghouti.
A picture glorifying 5 of the suicide bombings that Barghouti prepared explosives for and which killed 61 "Zionists" was posted by the administrator of the official Facebook page of the Enlistment and Organization Commission of Fatah. Terrorist Barghouti was honored as the "brave prisoner" and his attacks as "self-sacrificing activity" and "Martyrdom-seeking operations." "Martyrdom-seeking operations" is the Palestinian euphemism for suicide bombings.
Barghouti is serving 67 life sentences for preparing explosives for terror attacks in which 67 people were murdered - Sbarro restaurant (15 killed, Aug. 9, 2001), Sheffield Club (15 killed, May 7, 2002), Moment Café (11 killed, March 9, 2002), triple attack at Ben Yehuda pedestrian mall (11 killed, Dec. 1, 2001), Hebrew University (9 killed, July 1, 2002), and Bus 4 in Tel Aviv (6 killed, Sept. 19, 2002).
Following PMW's exposure of the visits this past May by PA TV to the homes of terrorist Barghouti and two other arch terrorists who between them are serving 166 life sentences, PA TV criticized PMW saying they are not terrorists but "heroes" and attacked PMW for calling them "terrorists".

Report: Syria gassed Palestinian Arabs in Yarmouk, killing 22. "Pro-Palestinian" groups silent

From JPost:
Syrian opposition activists say that the military has used chemical weapons against the Al Yarmouk district of Damascus, an area of the city comprised predominantly of Palestinian refugees, Israel Radio reported.

Palestinian sources said that 22 people have been killed in the area, most from inhalation of poisonous gases.
The Syrian Coalition press release says:
According to video footage uploaded by activists inside the capital of Damascus, Assad’s forces are using chemical and toxic gas bombs to shell the Yarmouk Palestinian Camp. The strategic, systematic use of chemical weapons in order to achieve military gains only proves the desperate state that Assad’s regime has reached.
Arabic media also indicates 22 victims.

Here is a news report that supposedly shows victims of the attacks:

As usual, the "pro-Palestinian" crowd is utterly silent about this potential war crime against the people they pretend to love. Use the phrase "white phosphorus" and they are up in arms, but actual poison gas doesn't cause a ripple in their moral compasses.

Because their concern isn't for the victims, but in the religion of the attackers.

ISRAEL MATZAV: Viral video: 11-year old Yemeni girl runs away from home to avoid forced marriage

11-year old Nada al-Ahdal has run away from home because her parents are trying to force her into a marriage.

Here's an interview with her. Let's go to the videotape. More after the video.

That video has more than 5,000,000 hits in two days, which is pretty amazing. But what it doesn't say is to whom her parents want to marry her off and why. Is it money or something else?

The answers to those questions are not entirely clear, but this postimplies that it probably had to do with money, and that the suitor was at least an adult.
video, posted on YouTube, shows an 11-year-old Yemeni girl called Nada al-Ahdal recounting how she escaped her parents who wanted to force her to marry. Nada comes from a modest family and is one of eight siblings. Fortunately for her, her uncle Abdel Salam al-Ahdal, a montage and graphics technician in a TV station, decided to take her in when she was three years old, to live with him and his aging mother, away from her parents.

Nada was not an only child at home. Her uncle had also taken his other nephew under his wing, as the boy’s own father couldn’t afford his son’s medical requirements. Abdel Salam was thus responsible for bringing up two children. He personally took care of keeping them, and his frail mother, clean and well-fed.

Nada grew up in this caring environment, went to school, and learned English during the summer vacation. She has her own Facebook page, was a gifted singer, and took part in musicals. However, her happiness was cut short when someone came to ask her parents for her hand in marriage. The man, a Yemeni expatriate living in Saudi Arabia, did not care about the girl’s age. Her parents were happy because the prospective groom worked abroad and was rich.

Abdel Salam tells NOW: “When I heard about the groom, I panicked. Nada was not even 11 years old; she was exactly 10 years and 3 months. I could not allow her to be married off and have her future destroyed, especially since her aunt was forced to marry at 13 and burnt herself. I did all I could to prevent that marriage. I called the groom and told him Nada was no good for him. I told him she did not wear the veil and he asked if things were going to remain like that. I said ‘yes, and I agree because she chose it.’ I also told him that she liked singing and asked if he would remain engaged to her.”

The groom recanted the engagement and told the girl’s parents he did not want their daughter anymore. Nada’s parents, looking forward to a hefty bride price, were disappointed.

Nada had an 18 year-old sister who had been engaged many times. Her parents accepted each new proposal and took a partial downpayment for a bride price. They would then postpone the marriage until the groom had enough money, eventually ending each engagement, not returning the money. The same story would start all over again with another suitor, and so it was that she had had nine fiancés.
