“Ethics of the Israel Defense Forces” details the training and service of Nadav Weinberg, an Israeli-born American who volunteered to serve as a Special Forces soldier in the IDF. Utilizing firsthand accounts as a Lone Soldier,the presentation details the philosophies and the “Code of Ethics” of the world’s most ethical military. Nadav introduces the audience to the shocking and rarely seen battlefront of today’s fight against terror. Sergeant Nadav Weinberg was born in Israel, moved to the United States as a child, and grew up in Seattle and Cleveland. Turning down an offer from Wall Street, he made Aliyah and joined the IDF in November 2008. Nadav finished extensive training in the Orev Special Forces of the Nachal Brigade and was active through-out Israel, primarily in the West Bank. His unit is principally responsible for preventing terrorist attacks while maintaining peace in the region. Nadav was recently released from the IDF and is living in Shaker Heights, Ohio before traveling the world for several months. Nadav graduated from Shaker Heights High School (Ohio) in 2004 and Magna Cum Laude from Case Western Reserve University in 2008, where he majored in Economics and Finance and Banking. Nadav will present on:
- Ruach Tzahal - the "Ethics of the IDF" - a background, description, history, how it came to be.
- The process every soldier must take before firing.
- A comparison with Hamas/Hezbollah's "Code of Conduct."
- Five short one-minute movies illustrating the supreme level of conduct between IDF soldiers and our enemies, most of which are rarely seen clips from Operation Cast Lead in Gaza.
