Rabbi Avrohom Ginzberg zt”l

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rabbi Avrohom Ginzberg zt”l of Queens, NY. Rabbi Ginzberg served for decades as the executive director of Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim of Queens and served as a close confidant and assistant to the rosh yeshiva, Rav Henach Leibowitz zt”l, for over 50 years. For decades, the financial burden of Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim was carried by Rabbi Ginzberg, who assumed his responsibilities humbly and without fanfare.
Rabbi Ginzberg was a founding member of the Vaad Harabbonim of Queens and served as the mara d’asra of the Kessel Street Shul in Forest Hills, Queens, for 57 years.
The levaya will take place today at 1 p.m. at Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim, located at 76-01 147th Street in Kew Gardens Hills, Queens. To listen to the levaya, call 213.342.3000 and enter code 889001.
Following the levaya, the aron will be flown to Eretz Yisroel. There will be a levaya at noon tomorrow at Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim in Yerushalayim, followed by kevurah on Har Hazeisim.
Rabbi Ginzberg leaves behind a beautiful mishpacha of children and ainiklach following in his ways. Rabbi Ginzberg is survived by his wife, Mrs. Adele Ginzberg, and his children, Rabbi Aryeh Zev Ginzburg, rov of the Chofetz Chaim Torah Center of the Five Towns; Rabbi Yissocher Ginzberg, menahel at Mesivta Tiferes Yerushalayim in New York City; Mrs. Toby Teichman and Mrs. Rochel Schlissel.
Yehi zichro boruch.
