I saw in a sefer on chanuka from rav gamliel rabinowitz shlita a beautiful thought re the 8TH day of chanuka. The kedushas levi says that the days of chanuka are an extension from yom kippur. The toldos ahron on chanuka adds that in heaven zois chanuka is the gmar chasima of the yemei din of tishrei. In the lekutei mahril he brings the minhag that some say tashlich on zois chanuka. From all of the above we see how this day is an unbelievable opportunity to do teshuva and that this day is very mesugal for our teshuva to be accepted.
The heilege ruzhuiner rebbe comments about the greatness of the power of prayer on zois chanuka and I quote: “the things that the biggest tzadikim can not accomplish with their prayers on yom kippur by neila prayer ,a simple jew can accomplish with his prayers on zois chanuka.” We see from here the greatness of the power of prayer on zois chanuka. I don’t think anything more has to be said.we have to utilize this day to its fullest.
We should all be zoche that we should have a complete kappara and all our prayers should be answered .
We should all witness the coming of moshiah speedily in our days.
