CAMERA (Committee for Middle East Reporting in America) and Young Israel of Los Angeles present: “International Law and Modern Warfare: Why Goldstone’s Acknowledgement of Error Does Not Go Far Enough” featuring Dr. Abraham Bell, International Law Scholar


Professor Abraham Bell currently teaches at the University of San Diego School of Law where he focuses his scholarship on property, international law, and economic analysis of the law. He has taught courses on each of these subjects, as well as copyright law, the laws of war, land use law, administrative law, torts, property tax and legal aspects of the Arab-Israeli conflict.  Among his notable recent publications are "Private Takings," 76 University of Chicago Law Review 517 (2009); "A Critique of the Goldstone Report and its Treatment of International Humanitarian Law," 104 American Society of International Law Procedure (forthcoming, 2010); and "The Hidden Function of Takings Compensation," (with Gideon Parchomovsky), 96 Virginia Law Review (forthcoming, 2010). Professor Bell clerked for Justice Mishael Cheshin of the Supreme Court of Israel, as well as in the High Court of Justice Department of Israel’s State Attorney’s office. He has served as a visiting professor at the University of Connecticut Law School and Fordham University Law School and as a professor at Bar Ilan University Faculty of Law.
