Mrs. Al Qaeda on Trial in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia is trying a terror suspect dubbed “Mrs. Al Qaeda,” accused of raising money for the terrorist group and recruiting terrorists.
Haylah al-Qassir is a Saudi Arabia woman whose second husband was an Al Qaeda terrorist killed in 2004, following a failed bomb attack on a Saudi Arabian ministry.
She has denied all charges against her and stated to the Saudi Arabia Special Criminal Court that she is loyal to the king, the Arab newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat reported.
Her lawyers argued that she was captive to her husbands, the first one having her denied the use of electricity and other modern developments that discourage people from following ”the path of the Prophet [Mohammed].”
Al-Qassir has been participating in Saudi Arabia’s renowned rehabilitation program designed to distance people from radical Muslim terror.
A scholar who works with the program told Asharq Al-Awsat that Al-Qassir viewed all Saudi security officers as her “enemy” because of her second husband’s death in the terrorist attack.
She reportedly has collected hundreds of thousands of dollars for Al Qaeda and recruited 60 terrorists, including suicide bombers.
She is considered one of the most prominent and indeed dangerous women affiliated with the Al Qaeda organization and was arrested in 2009 when Saudi Arabia authorities rounded up 112 other suspected terrorists.
