Shaare Zedek's New Parking Lot Substantially Increases Options

Responding to one of the more common gripes heard amongst visitors to Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center, this week the hospital opened a sprawling new parking lot. The lot, which sits just adjacent to the hospital’s 11.5 acre campus has added an additional 220 spots for the exclusive use of Shaare Zedek visitors and staff. Prior to the addition, many visitors to the hospital at any time after 9AM would often spend as long as half an hour looking for a spot or be forced to park at other locations and walk.
According to hospital administrators, the new lot is part of an ongoing effort to renovate all aspects of the Medical Center to make visiting the hospital that much more enjoyable.  “Shaare Zedek is Jerusalem’s fastest growing major medical center and with that growth comes a drastic increase in traffic of people and cars moving through our campus,” says Uri Schwarz, Shaare Zedek’s Director of International Operations. “The new lot will substantially ease congestion within our parking facilities and we are confident will make coming to visit our hospital that much easier.”
The new addition comes on top of the 1000 spaces that were already in place. The hospital has also benefited from its central location within Jerusalem which has placed it within very close proximity to the recently opened light rail which is designed to significantly enhance public transportation in the city. “We view all these developments as positive in making Shaare Zedek far more accessible for the people of the city,” Schwarz said.
