YESHIVAT YAVNEH: In Memory: Our Chattanim:

At every Jewish wedding we sing the haunting words of the Prophet - "אם לא אעלה את ירושלמים על ראש שמחתי" - "If I do not bring up Jerusalem at the peak of my joy" - this year for Simchat Torah, we turn up the volume on Simcha to full blast with 4 flying bachurim and a Candy Land unparalleled in history. It is precisely at this moment - the peak of our joy - that we must remember. To that end, we have decided to give out our 3 most precious Simchat Torah kibbudim to the 3 Israeli boys who were so horrifically murdered this year, Gilad Shaar, Eyal Yifrach, and Naftali Frenkel.

Chatan Torah: Eyal Yifrach

Eyal was 19 year old and known to have the biggest personality. He loved singing and giving. He was the type everyone wanted as a big brother.
Standing in for this aliyah will be Yeshivat Yavneh's most recent Bar Mitzvah - Michael Bess.

Chatan Bereshit: Gilad Shaar

Gilad was a 16 year-old boy who was the oldest of 6 with five sisters under him who he loved to spoil. He was always smiling, loved to learn and bake cakes. He loved Israel and was always traveling.
Standing in for this aliyah will be Eric Lunzer. Eric is currently studying in Yeshivat Eretz Ha Tazvi in Katamon, Israel.

Chatan Maftir: Naftali Frenkel
Naftali was a 16-year old musician and a basketball fan. He was the second-oldest of 7 children and also a U.S. citizen. He was known to be a gifted student and a responsible young boy.
Standing in for this aliyah will be Yavneh Alumna, Jeremy Goldstein.
